How do you decide teams in RBI?

Cliffhanger ftw.

Here's how I decide teams in RBI: I roll a die, (i.e 6+6 means a random team), and the number decided is random. New York Mets is 9 one game, Angels is 9 the next. Winner rolls the dice, the loser's team is decided by the winner. If I get stuck with the Mets, hope to god I don't get stuck with Kevin "K-Bass" Bass, because that team has a shithole of an offense, but Nolan Ryan is like, one of the only good people on that team.

"Filled The Wheelbarrow"?
"Flies Toward Washington"?
"Figs Taste Weird"?
"Fucked Tom Waits"?

For tournament play:
Each person simply lists all 10 teams in order from best to worst.  This will be their list throughout the tourney.
When 2 people play each other, the first discrepency in the list is your team.
Also, you can never be the same team twice in a row.

Edit: To further explain my last sentence.

Not bad, Stock.  I still prefer the push-pull method...one guy makes the match ups for the next X amount of games and the other guy gets to choose which side he takes...all but guarantees equity.

I canned my original idea with two die, so I'll just use one instead. The Dice Game woud work. Here's how my dice game works:

Roll the dice, and after one player rolls the dice, he/she can choose their teams like this:

1 sided die - Boston or California (1986 ALCS)
2 sided die - Detroit or Minnesota (1987 ALCS)
3 sided die - New York or Houston (1986 NLCS)
4 sided die - St. Louis or San Francisco (1987 NLCS)
*5 sided die - American or National
6 sided die - you can choose one of the first four tiers

*Note: if the second player says no to American OR National, they can choose their team as if a 6-sided die was rolled. IF the opponent says yes before Player 1 picks his/her team by rolling the dice, then he/she can have American or National go against the other player with their team.

There's lots of drinking to do if one player picked American or National from rolling a 5-sided die :D

So the game is decided by which die you choose.  I'd like to see one of these 1 or 2 sided dice, do they work well?

Would a penny be considered a "two sided die"?

You're joking, right?

Gantry

I'm pretty sure he meant the actual # on a 6-sided die...

VerlairWightSL

The sided die is where it lands and those numbers are on the die.
