Puckett's Pair of Home Runs Lead The Creamy Pirates to Series-Opening Victory

Recap:

Kirby Puckett hit two home runs and drove in four to lead the home Creamy Pirates to a 13-7 victory over The OC in Game 1 of the Best-of-Three Gantry Division Championship Series played on Sunday afternoon at Tengen Stadium.

Bob Ojeda picked up the victory by giving up three runs in four innings of work. Rick Reuschel worked the final five innings to preserve the Creamy Pirates victory.

"Well, one down and one to go," said Creamy Pirates manager and GM Richard Manfreddy. "The Dead Man came through big for us today, but we need some of our other big bats to step up if we want to march into The OC's house and close this series next game."

Candy Maldanado hit a two-run homer and drove in three total for The OC, who jumped into a 1-0 lead but then gave up nine runs in the third and fourth innings.

Poopydicks Shock Frank Tanana All-Stars with 15-7 Victory in Game One of the Doverbi Division Championship Series

Chili Davis and George Bell each homered twice to power visiting Poopydicks past The Frank Tanana All-Stars 15-7 in Game 1 of the Doverbi Divison Championship Series, played Tuesday night at Tengen Stadium. The win puts The Poopydicks one game away from advancing to the Fantasy RBI League World Series despite needing to wait until the final week of the regular season to make it into the playoffs.

Mike Krukow was solid in picking up the win for The Poopydicks. Krukow gave up one run while scattering seven hits over four innings. The Frank Tanana All-Stars hurt their cause by continually stranding runners at key moments. They finished the game with 11 runners left on base, compared to just five for The Poopydicks.

Jim Rice homered twice and drove in five for The Frank Tanana All-Stars in defeat.

Bullpen Helps The OC Level GDCS at 1-1

The OC used a six-run fifth inning and gritty work from their bullpen to defeat the visiting Creamy Pirates 12-10 on Friday night and level their Gantry Division Championship Series at 1-1, setting up a winner-take-all Game 3 to decide who goes to the Fantasy RBI League World Series.

Andre Dawson and Candy Maldanado each homered twice for The OC as they pounded out 22 hits. The OC's bullpen was brilliant, giving up three earned runs over the final five innings.

Tom Brunansky hit two homers to keep The Creamy Pirates in the game.
