After reading Chubbs' post about Tony Pena getting the best of him...made me think about my RBI Nemesis. You know, the one player who always burns you, who you can never get out. For me it's Pedro Guerrero! He dongs off me every F'ing time. I hate him.

Name your RBI Nemesis and why/how he kills you.

Jesse Orosco, maybe because he is the only left handed sidearmer, but I have a hell of a time reading pitches from Jesse

The Raiders are a successful organization

Punk ass Doug DeCinces!  I get absolutely no production from him when on my team but if I'm playing against Cali, I swear he hits at least .900.  Even if I don't give up a bomb, I know he's always good for a shot into the gap in left center.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

I'd probably have to go with Gary Carter in light of recent events against Chubbs.  GC hit four bombs against me in one game, three in another.  Most other games he isn't much worse either.  I just can't seem to get Geri Curl out.

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

Don't forget Mike Schmidt too brother

Other than Tony Pena, I'd have to say....Tony F'n Pena.

Damn that man.

For me, it was Joel Youngblood yesterday.  That's right--I said Joel Youngblood.  The kid hit a mistake pitch over the wall for a grandslam in game one and popped a solo shot in game 2...both required for the SF win.

How embarrassing!

Without a doubt, that sack of crap Wade Anthony Boggs.  He hits an inexplicable number of HRs off me.  What a piece of crap...

Flood

Tom Brookens...instant dong.

ANY sidearm pitcher gives me headaches.

Curt Ford... I always take him out, my roommate leaves him in.  So I never hear the end of it when he has a good game with Ford.
What a horrible night to have a curse.

chubbrock

I agree, I think the lefty sidearm is a lot trickier.

Sabes and Bedrock always give the me most trouble among the sidewinders.  Its hard to have a disciplined batting eye when they bring it sidearm.  Orosco and Kerf don't throw quite hard enough to be as tricky as the other two.
What a horrible night to have a curse.

chubbrock

Agreed.  It's just something about the lefty approach.  I think it's more intimidating than anything.

I'm embarrassed to say it, but yesterday, mine was Joel Youngblood.  In game one, he hit a GS that ultimately cost me the game and in game two, it was his solo shot that did me in.

Those might have been the first two homers I've given up against him (at least in a really really really long time), but damn did they sting!

Doug DeCinces may be my main one but my most embarassing, as much as I hate to admit it is Spike Owen.

It started when me and Spike_Owen#1 (guess where that username came from) were playing a 3 game series with Boston and SanFran.  He was joking that he was going to leave the starters in b/c he almost always does but I told him that there was absolutely no way he could do that with Boston and Spike, not even for 1 at bat.

In the first game, I put up 13 runs in the first 2 innings on 6HR's and Gedman makes the final out in the 2nd.  I told him that this was the RBI Gods' way of telling him that Spike was never meant to get an AB.

Game 2 - Spike gets a seeing eye single in his 1st AB, one of those that just kind of goes between everybody.  I plunked him in his 2nd AB (even though we play straight pitch) just for the fact that he got a hit off me.  Third AB following the HBP he hits a fucking 3 run wallzie.  Next AB he gets an infield single when my shortstop mysteriously throws a rainbow to first.  After the pitcher makes what should have been the third out Burks hits a two run bomb.  All in all he ended up something like 4-4, 5 RBI, 1 HBP and I lose 17-12.

Game 3 - I win big again but not before Spike hits another one out, this one a legitimate shot near the top of the stands.

I may have won the series but remain incredibly bitter to this day.  I think I'd probably rather lose than give up HR's to Spike Owen in consecutive games.

Two relief pitchers are my bane: Willie Hernandez and Donnie Moore. I always have to use them as setup men, never closers. Funny thing is I usually kill them when my opponent uses them. My opponent lost a 5 game series in the last AB with Moore on the mound. I think because they suck when I use them, I can use that to psych myself up when I face them as well.

That's interesting--because I think Willie is pretty much a stud on the game...without much thought, I'd say he's the 2nd best leftie reliever, behind Uncle Jesse, of course.
