Ban second accounts?

I'm looking for thoughts on automagically deleting any accounts found to be a second account of a Dee-Nee regular. Truffles/TopTen and SNATCHBLASTER were amusing. The others get on my fucking nerves.

This would also mean we get to delete BDawk.

how can you do that?  ban people posting from the same IP?  i don't think that is necessarily going to work.  i bet people post from gantry's house pretty often, i also imagine that briznock and goreds use the same computer at least sometimes.  what if someone's roommate signs up for the forum?  nacho and i used to live together, for example.

How about we just ban people that only post shit?  THis could be like survivor. Every week, we have to vote one person off.
The winner would be the final one left and have a great time posting to his / serself. That's funny and fun

It's generally easy enough to tell from IP and posting history.

IP overlap within subnet used by his ISP, including identical IP use within minutes of each other from different usernames. Similar e-mail addresses. Posting behavior when a "new" forum member.

I don't think it should be automatic, though I wouldn't mind that much, probably should be on a case by case basis.  There is no reason at this point that Stevo should still have any account, he has plenty of chances the F Lee Bailey/Steveo should have been his final straw.

I need a wrapup as to what went on, as I haven't been active much this week.   Basically Stevo started a new user, made spam threads and faked like he didn't know what was going on?

A second account can be fine when it's done clearly in humor or it's done without misleading people that a new user is upon us.  The Snatchblaster/Truffles/Keyzer Soze users weren't trying to mislead anyone, and that's an important aspect...

Strassy - posting from the same IP is zero grounds for bandment.  If establish users post from the same IP, no worries.  If a suddenly-new user comes from the same IP as an established user, fakes ignorance, never gets mentions that he/she knows an established user etc then action should likely be taken.  If someone brand new comes upon Dee-Nee from the house/user of a regular member, you typically announce that as the new person or established member.  If someone is going to come to dee-nee from your house/guidance, then there is a bit of responsibility on the established user to steer them along the proper path...
