Portsmouth Games 3/6

[Baines]

Played a few with Spike_Owen#1 before going out to the bar.  These games were straight pitch and played under the influence of box wine and Sparks.

GAME 1
Baines: Detroit 13
Spike:   Boston 3
Boston went through a power outage in this one.  Nothing special about this one really but I did enjoy him getting so pissed that he subbed for Spike Owen.


GAME 2
Baines:  Houston  11
Spike:    Minnesota 1
The Astros actually brought some offensive firepower in this one.  Had homeruns from Lopes, Cruz and Garner which is something you don't see everyday.


GAME 3
This one was after we got back from the bar.  Not really clear on details but I'm pretty sure I beat somebody with the Mets.


GAME 4
Baines: American 30
Spike:   Detroit    13
This one was this morning.  We pick random teams and this is what we ended up with.  Usually DT vs. AM isn't too bad of a matchup but I guess it's hard for any team to keep pace when American gets on a roll.  Brett hit bombs in his first 3 AB's.  Bell also ended up with 3 and McGwire and Baines had 2.


I must have had my A Game this weekend or something.  Lets hope the RBI gods continue to smile on me.

Getting slaughtered by Houston in straighth pitch is inexcusable.  Though slaughtering someone with Houston is impressive.  Quite the paradox...

I hope spike was really drunk. Even then, losing to Houston is inexcusable

To his defense, I have played a lot more RBI than him and we did have quite a bit to drink.  As for the power surge from Houston, it's anybody's guess where that came from but there's always a sense of accomplishment when you have a big game with them.

For some reason, whenever I play Chubbrock with Houston, I have a huge power surge.  Especially Lopes and Garner.

Ass whipping for Baines tonite:

Spike:    American  15

This would been a good game had I not spotted Spike 1 1/2 runs.  So I lost $5 on this one.  


We went double or nothing on the 2nd game.  Don;t remember the teams but I lost by 1 run.  Damn I fucking suck.

Chubbs beat me two out of three last night and should have also won the first.  All three were very close but the first had him on the brink of suicide.

He was Am, I was Dt.  He had a 4 run lead going into the top of the 8th.  I then proceeded to score 8 consecutive runs with no outs and take away his will to live.  He somehow came back and won the next two games, both of which were very close.
