I'm curious to find out who everyone's RBI nemesis is.  I would have to say mine is Rupert Jones, whenever Chris plays as California he hits like 6 homers with him.  But I always kill him with Lou Whittaker, i don't think he's ever gotten Lou out.

Holy shit, me and Chris just played our best game ever.  He's never beaten me when i'm Detroit and I decided to give him another shot.  We had like 5 lead changes and he was up 3 in the 8th, then i took a 3 run lead into the ninth, 20-17.  I put my last pitcher in to face the heart of california's order.  I gave up a homer to Rupert Jones, in the leadoff position and Joyner to make it 20-19.  Luckily with one out Reggie fouled out and Downing came up.  Downing hit a little fly to second and we were starting to talk about how great a game it was and how it was over.  Well i bopped the frekin ball and Bobby the Grinch came up, who Chris seems to have a hard-on for and never pinch hits for him.  Well he hit a grounder to short and the game ended.  Definetly one of the best games i have ever played.

Damnit, that was a great game.  And i was debating whether or not to pinch hit for the Grinch, and put in Hendrick,  but i decided not to since i wanted to leave one guy on my bench in case it went into extra innings and my pitcher came up.
As far as RBI nemesis, Lou "Pernell" Whitaker is definitely my worst nightmare.  We call him CK for short (Chris Killer).  He didn't disappoint last game, as he blasted 4 homers against me.  Brookens kills me too.  Actually , all of detriot kills me.  Even Alexander gets hits when he pitches.

20-19?  Was that a straight pitch game?

As for my nemesis, I would say Jim Rice he always seems to come to bat when the bases are full and I'm out of pitching. I always hope that maybe he'll pop up, but he usually hits a bomb.

Wally Joyner aka Meat kills me everytime that I play against him.  I don't know what it is, but he's always up to bat when there are two outs.  All I want to do is get out of the inning unscathed, but it just never happens; Meat will always hit a homer with two outs...

Kirk Gibson is an MVP when i play against him yet as soon as he laces them up for me he sucks ass.  For those reasons, he is my nemesis.

I have different nemeses depending on my opponent.  Against Sperling, Chet Lemon pulls everything out of his ass...  Lately Lipitz has been destroying me with Darrell Evans, even moreso than usual.  For Potsie it is the Burly Sac, Rick Burleson...

pretty much the entire roster of the Twins.  Special hatred goes out to Juan Berenger, Kent Hrbek (damn those fat bastards) and Tim "Laundry" Laudner.

I would have to say Roger Clemens, when I play Joe(Gwynn3k) he is notorious for bringing in Clemens in to pitch the 7th, 8th, and 9th. In curve style it is almost impossible to make contact after seeing Hurst, Shiraldi, and Stanley lob their crap up there all game. Clemens can be an awesome closer...

We run into a similar situation when playing Detroit and someone brings in Hernandez at the end of the game.  After facing slow righties all game, it's very tough to hit Willie with lefty hitters...

i agree... willie doesnt get enough credit for being the lone bright spot on the detroit staff.  his fellow crap hurlers drag him down with their slop.  no pitcher in the game is more ineffective than king.   i dont care how tired the others get, king never takes off his jacket to even warm up.

good call on that Joe, I cant' even count the number of times King has given up late inning homers, he is permanently benched by me also.

I beg to differ on the point that Eric King is the worst pitcher in RBI.  Calvin Schiraldi is far worse...there is little/no comparison.  He has had about 2 career appearances in which he didn't get shelled.

I agree with Strass, Schiraldi is a legend around these parts for getting whooped, even in straight pitch.  He very rarely gets the late-inning nod....

King does get some action, though I'm known to pull off the 11 run inning when he does...

king throws nothing but puss... schiraldi has a fastball which can be used to get bad swings.   if he doesnt fool the hitter, it is bad news.  but king is by far the sorriest hurler in the game.

No way...Schiraldi sucks ass, and is far worse than King.  I have never seen Schiraldi have a good outing as King does time and time again.

i guess when i put king in i should lob it over the middle to be effective.   i will give it a try.

just to prove i have confidence in him i just gave schiraldi the ball against my brother who took al allstars.  he had a no no going until the 5th when canseco hit one off the top of the wall.  he kept his shutout until the 7th when the longball got the best of him.  take that schiraldi haters!

now i am going to use king and i will check back with you.

well i know you all couldnt wait to hear...   king vs. al allstars...  another dominating performance taking a shutout into the 7th until cal knocked one over the left field wall...   if this means anything... either king and calvin arent that bad or my brother needs some more practice.   take it for what its worth.
