Name the only two RBI'ers (and only two players in MLB history) to have a 30-homer season in under 100 games.

(Hint): One of them is also on the following list (twice) for players with 30+ homers with less than 100 Hits. The others are:

(1992) Rob Deer - 32 HR, 97 Hits
(1999) Barry Bonds - 34 HR, 93 Hits
(2004) Jose Valentin - 30 HR, 97 Hits

McGwire and Reggie

McGwire's one of the correct ones,  (32 HR in 89 G) in 2000. He also had 39 HR and 87 Hits in 1995, and 72 Hits to go with his 32 homers in 2000.

The other one's last name also starts with an "M"

BeefMaster

I knew McGwire (he also is, along with Deer, one of the only players to have a 20-homer season and bat under .200).

Too early in the morning to figure out the other one.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Metal King

Yep, Kevin Mitchell is the other one, 1994, strike year. 30 HR, 77 RBI, slugged about .641 too. All under 100 games played, 95 I think.

Yeah McGwire & Deer each hit over 20 homers batting under .200 in a season.

Mac had 29 homers and hit .187 I think.
Deer had 25 or 26 and only hit .176!

Ruben Rivera was the other guy, 23 HR and about a .195 avg.

BeefMaster

I didn't know about Rivera.

Deer is a fun guy to have around in RBI 3 (it's from the season before his .178/25 season) - his contact rating is terrible, but he has very good power, so you really have to make sure you get a solid hit.

Yeah. I especially love using the '84 Cubs. EVERY player has a ton of power if you swing correctly. I hit a 450-foot shot with Hatcher and Cotto a few times, and a 470-footer with (Mel?) Hall.

There's probably a longer list of active players from RBI 2 or 3. Probably not as long as you'd think though.

Ok name the player(s):

Four players in MLB history who played for the Florida Marlins, were still active in MLB at least one year in the 1970's. Three of them are RBI'ers (all hitters), and one's a pitcher who almost played in the 1960's!

EDIT: Sometimes I think the Marlins are the Rays

assuming this isn't limited to RBI'ers, the pitcher is Charlie Hough

I almost guessed Dale Murphy, but he was with the Rockies, not the Marlins.

I knew Dawson, but I'm not sure who the other two would be.

didn't Raines play a season or two with the Marlins?
