Some observations, just over 25% through the regular season.
If the season were to end today, this is what the seeding would look like for the playoffs.

1.  Nacho - First Round Bye - Home Field throughout.
2.  Rack - First Round Bye - Home Field unless he plays Nacho.
3.  Big Hath - Will play the #6 seed in the first round (home field)
4.  Ultimate - Will play the #5 seed in the first round. (home field)
5.  GDavis - Wild Card
6.  Beefmaster - Wild Card

Rack has 5 guys in the top 10 in HRs; Kiner (22), Bagwell (20), Belle (20), Foxx (18), & Jeter (18).

GDavis has the top 2 guys in BAV; Aaron (.836) and Delgado (.820).

Barry Bonds and Harmon Killebrew are slugging over 2.000 on the season.

Gary Sheffield has 3 Grand Slams so far.

Ichiro & Crawford have 10 triples each so far.

Soriano has 19 doubles (6 more than next in line).

IMO...

The biggest disappointment so far is:  Mark McGwire.  He was a first round draft pick (#8 overall), but is ranked 89th in Slugging and 115th in Batting Average.

The best draft pick so far is:  Rocky Colavito.  He was a 6th round draft pick (#85 overall), but is ranked 13th in Slugging and 11th in Batting Average.

The best 9th round pick so far is:  Tony Conigliaro.  Although he is ranked 41st in slugging (better than Mark McGwire btw), he is ranked 6th in batting average.

The next week (week 6) will be an interdivision (2-game) series b/w the "Ruth" & "Pujols" division and the "Bonds" & "AROD" division.

After week 6 is complete, we will be 1/3 complete with the regular season.  At this time, all managers will have a chance to make changes to their line-ups.

Don't be silly, Gantry.  There are plenty of other reasons why you suck, all of which supercede these reasons.

Like missing that big sheets of player ratings before I made my first pick?

Week 6
Attezz vs GDavis
Game 1; Despite a 3-run HR from Ruth in the 1st inning, it only took 2 innings for Gdavis to slaughter Attezz 13-3 w/ a walkoff HR from Aaron.
Game 2; Attezz gave GD a scare, putting up 12 runs in the 5th and going up 20-15.  However, Gdavis (led by multi-HR games from Aaron, Canseco, Delgado, & Posada) took the lead back in the 7th and never looked back.
Series MVP goes to Hank Aaron; 9-11, 3HRs, cycle, 7 RBIs in the series.
LVP goes to Chance, going only 1-8 in the series.
Don't blame... Babe Ruth (as usual) who went 7-9, 3HRs, 7 RBIs.  Coleman also had a great 8-9 gane (despite only 1 RBI).

McLane vs AlecTrevylan
Game 1; Alomar leads the way to a 3-inning slaughter with 3 3-run HRs.  David Ortiz also added 2 HRs.  Glaus tried to keep it close for AlecT with 4 RBIs, but was not enough.
Game 2; Despite AlecTrevylan putting up 28 runs in 5 innings (Gerhig/Mays/Bench all with 3-HR games), McLane still finds a way to slaughter them.  McLane was down until the 4th inning when he put up 9 runs.  That was followed by a 20 run 5th inning.  Alomar & Thomas combined 14-14 in the game.  Ortiz had a 4-HR game while the 7-8-9 batters had 2 HRs each.
Game MVP goes to the Big Hurt; 10-10, 5 HRs in the sweep.
LVP goes to Rollins; 3-8 w/ only 1 RBI in the series loss.
Don't blame.... Mays and Bench; both batted .857 with 3 HRs in the series loss.

Nomaaa vs BigHath
Game 1 was a great back and forth game.  Nomaaa looked to be running away with it after scoring 16 runs in the 4th & 5th innings.  However, then BigHath came back with 16 runs in the bottom of the 5th and 10 more in the 6th, and looked to have taken control.  Then Nomaaa turned it on in the 8th and 9th and ended up winning by 10.  Manny and Brett Boone both had 4-HR games for Nomaaa.  Thome went 7-7 (2HRs) and Buhner had a 3-HR (GS) game in BigHath's loss.
Game 2; BigHath kept the pressure on each of the first 3 innings to put away Nomaaa early.  Killebrew and Greg Vaughn had 2 HRs each in the 3 inning victory.  Crawford, Murphy, & Boone combined 0-7 in the loss.
Series MVP goes to Killebrew; 9-10, 4HRs, 12 RBIs.
LVP goes to Bobby Bonds; only 5-12, 0 HRs, 1 RBI in the series split.
Thome went 10-10, 2HRs, 6 RBIs for BigHath, and Ramirez went 8-10, 5HRs, 13 RBIs for Nomaaa.

Ultimate vs Fighton
Game 1; Ultimate had a good game plan; put up 21 runs in 2 innings; game over.  McCovey, Stargel, & Banks combined 9-9, 4HRs, 2 2Bs, 10 RBIs.  Kent & O'Doul accounted for 2/3 of Fighton's outs.
Game 2, Ultimate couldn't score as many runs in 8 innings as it took him to score in 2 innings in game 1.  Fighton who was winning most the game by a hefty margin, put a cap on his lead with 15 runs in the 8th.  Pujols went 7-8 w/ 4HRs.  O'Doul went 7-8, HR.
Series MVP goes to Pujols; 9-10, 4HRs, 3 2Bs, 11 RBIs.
LVP goes to Jeff Kent; only 3-9 (0 HRs).
McCovey had a good series for Ultimate; 8-9, 2HRs.

Beefmaster vs Gantry
Game 1; Gantry's Poopybutts ended it quickly, capped by a York walk-off HR.  Jackson & Dunn also hit home runs and HoJo had 2 doubles.
Game 2; was pretty much the opposite of game 1. Allen ends it in the bottom of the 3rd with a walkoff HR.  Conigliaro stays hot, going 3-3, 2HRs, 7 RBIs in the game.
Series MVP goes to Eddie Mathews; 5-5, 3HRs, 6 RBIs.
LVP goes to Delino Deshields; 0-3 (only player w/o a hit in the series).
Ted Williams, HoJo, & Reggie Jackson combined 14-14 in the series split for Gantry.

Rack vs Weathermatt
Game 1, Joe Carter, Juan Gone & Big Mac combine 14-14, 5HRs, 16 RBIs for Weathermatt.  Javy Lopez also went 4-4 with a double and 3 RBIs.
Game 2, Weathermatt needed only 3 innings to put Rack away.  Sanders went 5-5, 2HRs, 2B, 5 RBIs.  Juan Gonzalez went 4-4 (GS).
Series MVP goes to Juan Gonzalez; 8-8, 3HRs (GS), 10 RBIs
LVP goes to Bagwell; 1-5, GIDP in series loss.
Don't blame.... Chipper Jones, 5-6, 2HRs, 4 RBIs in the series loss.

Ryno vs Shooty
Game 1; Ryno could only muster 5 runs in 3 innings led by Palmiero/WClark going 2-2 (w/ a HR) each.  Shooty ended it in the bottom of the 3rd, w/o even recording the first out.  Greenberg went 3-3, 2HRs, and Taveras went 2-2, 2 3Bs.
Game 2; Ryno started out strong scoring 7-10-7 runs in the first 3 innings.  However, his squad only scored 1-1-1-0 in the next 4 innings.  Shooty put it away in the 7th putting up 11 runs (including 7 straight HRs, Edmonds thru Parrish- a pr for myself).  Edmonds, Greenberg, & Matt Williams had 3-HR games, while Big Sexy had 4 HRs.
Series MVP goes to Hank Greenberg; 9-11, 5HRs, 2B, 10 RBI in series sweep.
LVP goes to Sandberg (4-9); only player on either team to bat below .500 in the series.
Don't blame .... Palmiero; 7-8, 2HRs, 2B, 4 RBIs in series loss.

Stock vs Nacho
Game 1; Despite scoring 16 runs in 2 innings led by a 13-13, 4HR combined effort from Arod, Vlad, Ajones, Biggio & Maris, Stock still got the slaughter.  Stock's squad scored 23 runs in the top of the second. Henderson hit for the cycle in 4 Abs.  Helton & Ott both went 4-4 w/ a HR.  Despite all the offense, nobody had a multi HR game for Stock.
Game 2; Stock completes the sweep led by a 5-5 game from Griffey and a 2HR game from Joe Morgan.    Arod/Vlad combined 8-8, 4HRs, & 7 RBIs for Nacho, but the rest of the team batted .370.
Series MVP goes to Mel Ott; 8-9, HR, 2B, 7 RBIs.
LVP goes to Wagner; 1-6 in the series loss.
Don't blame... AROD; 7-7, 4HRs, 3 2Bs, 6 RBIs in the series loss.  Vlad also batted 1.000 in the series.

He's not that  bad.  He still has a batting average better than 34 other players in the league.

Week 7
Attezz vs AlecTrevylan
Game 1; Attezz couldn't even get thru the lineup once as they get slaughtered in the 2nd.  Bench was the standout in this game going 2-2 with two 3-run HRs.
Game 2; not much better for Attezz, although he lasted 1 more inning than in game 1.  Gehrig was 3-3, 2HR, 3 RBI in the slaughter.
Series MVP goes to Lou Gehrig; 5-5, 2HRs, 6 RBI in the series sweep.
LVP; Just pick one; Coleman, Samuel, and Stahl combined 0-8 in the series loss.
Don't blame.... The Babe.  He batted 1.000 with a HR in the series loss.

BigHath vs McLane
Game 1; BigHath ends it in 2 innings.  Bobby Bonds went 3-3 (HR).  Burkman had 2HRs.  Buhner/Gordon had 2-run HRs each.
Game 2; both teams started slow, but then both teams scored 15 runs (each) in the 9th inning (Burkman/Palmer had grand slams).  However, BigHath had the lead going into the bottom half of the ninth.  Palmer was 6-6 w/ 3HRs in the losing effort.  Bobby Bonds and Buhner were both 7-8 for BigHath.
Series MVP goes to Bobby Bonds; 10-11, 2HRs, 4 2Bs, 7 RBIs in the series sweep.
LVP goes to Frank Thomas; only 3-8 from the 3-spot in the lineup.
Don't blame; Dean Palmer; 7-7, 3HRs (GS), 8 RBIs in the series loss.

Nomaaa vs Fighton
Fighton started out hot, scoring 7 runs in the 1st and 6 runs in the 2nd, but then was blanked the next 2 innings.  This gave Nomaaa a chance to come back, until Fighton put up 14 runs in the bottom of the 6th, ending the game with a (ever so exciting) Kent sac fly.  Aram-Ramirez had a grandslam, and Kent had 2HRs in the game.
Game 2; Fighton disposes of Nomaaa early, led by 3-run HRs from Nomar and Hack Wilson.  Pujols, Howard, O'Doule, & Brett combined 10-10, HR, 6 RBIs.
Series MVP goes to Brett; 8-8, 2HRs, 3 2Bs, 7 RBIs in the series sweep.
LVP goes to Fisk; 1-7 with a solo HR.  Manny also disapointed from the 3-spot batting only .375 in the series loss.
Don't blame ... Tejada; 6-6, HR, 3 2Bs in the series loss.

Ultimate vs GDavis
Game 1; was quite the slaughter when Ultimate scores 19 runs in the 1st.  Soriano and Mitchel had two 3-run HRs each in the first inning.
Game 2 was much like game 1.  Ultimate just consistently scoring runs every inning.  Strawberry, Stargel, & Snider combined 11-11, 3HRs, 9 RBIs.  Hundley was 2-3 (GS).
Series MVP goes to Kevin Mitchel; 5-6, three 3-run HRs, 10 RBIs.  Banks and Snider batted 1.000, combining for 10 RBIs.
LVP goes to Fielder; 2-4, 0 RBIs, GIDP.
Don't blame.... Posada; 2-2, HR, RBI in series loss.

Beefmaster vs Weathermatt
Game 1; Beefmaster's offense was top notch, scoring 9-9-3-8 runs in the first 4 innings (averaging over 6 runs/inning for the game).  However, Weathermatt hung in their, and really turned it on in the later innings, completing the slaughter in the bottom of the 6th with a Javy Lopez 3-Run blast.  Zernial was 7-7, HR, 7 RBIs, and Bonds had a Grand Slam for Beef.  For Weathermatt, Sanders was 7-7, HR, 3 2Bs, 4 RBIs from the leadoff spot.  Joe Carter went 7-8, 3HRs, 4 2Bs, 10 RBIs.  Kingman had 4HRs (GS).
Game 2; was high scoring like the first game, and same result in the end.  Weathermatt gets the slaughter in the end.  Mac, Gonzalez and Kingman had 3HRs each.  Everyone else except Deer (1HR) had 2 HRs each.
Series MVP goes to Batista; 12-14, 3HRs, 8 RBIs batting from the 8-spot.  Although, Kingman smashed 7HRs with 15 RBIs, he still only batted .688.
LVP goes to Stephens; only player on either team to bat below .500.
Don't blame... Zernial; 13-14, 3HRs, 3 2Bs, 11 RBIs in series loss.

Rack vs Shooty
Game 1; Rack kept his home runs coming.  However, despite Belle hitting 6 HRs, Kiner hitting 4 HRs, and Foxx hitting 3 HRs, Shooty still pulls it off in the 9th with a Sosa walk-off.  Edmonds had a huge 4HR, 8 RBI game, while Sosa went 8-9, 3HRs, 7 RBIs.  Greenburg also had a 3 HR game with 8 RBIs.
Game 2; Rack splits the series, led by a 3HR, 6 RBI game from Foxx.  Kiner & Klein each added 2 HRs.  Chipper was 6-6.  Matt Williams was 5-5, 2HRs, 2 2Bs, 4 RBIs in the loss.
Series MVP goes to Matt Williams; 11-13, 4HRs, 5 2Bs, 12 RBIs.  Albert Belle, despite blasting 7HRs and driving in 14 runs, he only batted .667 in the series.
LVP goes to Tony Womack; 5-13 (all singles).

Ryno vs Nacho
Game 1; despite Rynos 1-2 hitters (Eric Davis/Sandberg) combining 0-9, the bottom of the order (led by Ripken; 4-4, 2HR, 2B, 5 RBIs) was able to win it in the 5th inning.  Dawson went 4-4 as well.  Nacho's 2-5 hitters combined 3-12 with only 2 RBIs.
Game 2 went down to the wire.  Nacho was leading most of the game until Ryno got it going in the 7/8th innings led by a GS from Schmidt and Will Clark.  It was tied with 2 outs in the bottom of the ninth when Will Clark came thru again with a walk off single.  Sandberg had a great game going 7-8 despite no RBIs.  ARod had a 4HR game in the loss for Nacho.
Series MVP goes to Mike Schmidt; 10-12, 3HRs, 2B, 8 RBIs in the series sweep.
LVP goes to Wagner; 3-9 (lowest BA in the series).
Don't blame.... DiMaggio; .727 BA, 4HRs, 2B,  8 RBIs in the series loss.

Stock vs Gantry
Game 1; Both teams started out hot scoring almost 20 runs each in the first 2 innings.  However, they both cooled off and it went down to 9th inning.  Stock pulls it off led by 3HR games from both Helton and Mo Vaughn.  Walker, Griffey, Piazza, & Morgan had 2HR games as well.
Game 2, Gantry started just as hot as in the first game (scoring 19 runs in the first 2 innings).  However, Stock did not keep pace this game (scoring only 7; despite a Fryman grand slam).  Teddy Ballgame was 3-3, 2HRs, 6 RBIs.  Mize was 3-3, 2HRs, 4 RBIs.  Mathews/HoJo combined 6-6.
Series MVP goes to Eddie Mathews; 9-10, 2HRs, 2B, 7 RBIs.  Giambi had 4HRs & 12 RBIs despite batting .200 points less than Mathews.
LVP goes to Delino Deshields, batting .333 (the only player w/o an RBI) in the series.
