It bothers me that I have the most potent lineup in the league (highest runs/batter) and am just a game over .500.  I think maybe I need to shake up my batting order, because Stephens is getting absolutely crushed.

Stock, have you kept track of runs allowed?  My team's got to be near the top.

Not sure I follow that logic.

I haven't been keeping track of runs allowed, but I have the info to calculate it in the spreadsheet.
On the "Schedule" tab, I have the score and #innings played for every game.

For Beef:

Runs allowed per inning.
Although you are near the top, you are no the worst.  My team and AlecT's team are giving up more than 5 runs/inning.
You have the most runs per AB, but happen to be in the same division as Rack (#2 overall).  I am guessing if you keep up your current offense, you should make the playoffs.
The last 6 games of the season will be divisional games, so most should have a chance to make the playoffs going into the last couple of weeks.

It was a (poorly-executed) joke - I was remarking that Stephens (who bats 9th and is officially the pitcher) was getting shelled, so maybe I should switch around the batting order to let someone else "pitch".

At the 2/3 mark, so after week 12.
Playoff teams will then have the chance to change their lineups one more time before the playoffs start.

You've accomplished that feet 3 different times this season.
You have yet to win 3 games in a row.

It only took you 4 total innings to sweep McLane.

Picking Honus Wagner was a horrible move on my part...

Not really.
He is still outperforming (IMO) 6 shortstops in our league (including Garciaparra - Fighton's 2nd pick overall).

Wagner is also outperforming 2/3 of Atezz's lineup.

Maybe, but I have A-Rod, who is SS eligible, and I'm sure I could have found a 3B to outperform Wagner.

Mr. Blubbo

Beef you need to work on your defense.
Here's your ball!

Mr. Blubbo

This league is awesome and I look forward to each update.  Great job Stock.

Is there going to be a season #2?  Perhaps just using their best season instead of their entire career?
Here's your ball!

Nacho

I agree, I'd like to keep this thing going for future seasons.

Shooty

Agreed.

I wish our All Time Baseball league was run as well.  That fizzled out after a great start.  I blame Attez.

Attezz

Week 11

Attezz vs Ryno
Game 1; 14 runs in 3 innings was enough to put away Attezz. Palmiero/Rice were each 3-3 w/ a HR.  For Attezz, Coleman, Konerko, Samuel, Lobert, and Stahl were hitless.
Game 2; was much better and the lead changed several times.  After 6 innings Attezz had a 16-19 lead.  Then things fell apart as Ryno outscored Attezz in the 7th inning 14-1, and the game was over.  The Babe was 5-5, 3HRs (GS), 10 RBIs in the loss.  Chance was 5-5 (3B).  Everyone in Ryno's lineup hit at least 1 HR except (ironically) Sandberg.
Series MVP goes to Palmiero; 9-10, 3HRs, 10 RBIs.  Gary Carter also had a good game from the 9-spot; 3HRs & 8 RBIs.
LVP ... goes to Lobert.  An easy choice after going 0-6 in the series.
Don't blame... Babe Ruth; 6-7, 4HRs, 13 RBIs in the series loss.  Chance also had a great game, going 6-6, w/ 2 RBIs.

McLane vs Stock
Game 1; Stock did very well putting up 27 runs in 4 innings.  Walker/Ott/Helton batted 1.000 in the game, combining for 6HRs and 17 RBIs.  The only problem was that McLane was absolutely on fire (40 runs in 4 innings).  Mantle was 6-6, 2HRs, 2 2Bs, 7 RBIs.  Tettleton was 5-5, 3HRs, 7 RBIs.  Palmer was 5-6, 4HRs, 8 RBIs.
Game 2; Stock stayed consistent with game 1 and put up 21 runs in 3 innings.  McLane evidentally used all of his runs up in game one and could only put 10 on the board.  For Stock, Walker went 4-4, 2HRs, 4 RBIs.  Griffey hit the cycle in his 4 Abs, 4 RBIs.
Series MVP is Mickey Tettleton; 7-7, 4HRs, 9 RBIs in the series split.  Larry Walker also batted 1.000 with 3HRs and 8 RBIs.
LVP goes to .... Rickey Henderson who batted only .429 with only 1 RBI in a series where 98 runs were scored.

Nomaaa vs Beefmaser
Game 1 was all Beefmaster, as Nomaaa could only put 1 run on the board in 2 innings.  Allen was 2-2 (HR), Stephens had a 3-run HR in his only AB, and Campanella ended the game with a walk-off Grand Slam.
Game 2; Beefmaster put up 13 runs in the top of the 1st inning.  Campanella was 2-2 with a pair of 3-run HRs.  Nomaaa got 2 runs in the bottom of the first from a Manny HR, but that was it, and that was it.
Series MVP goes to Campanella; 3-4 with two 3-run HRs and a Grand Slam (10 RBIs).
LVP goes to Tejada.  Although, Murphy & Crawford were alos 0-1 in the series, Tejada popped up in the first series with the bases loaded and two outs.
Don't blame... Brett Boone; A solo HR in his only AB in the series.

Ultimate vs Rack
Game 1 was a slugfest through the first two innings.  Through 2 innings, everyone in Ultimate's lineup had a HR except for Hundley (a measley 2-2), and had 14 runs on the board.  Rack batted .786 in the first 2 innings putting up 20 runs.  Ultimate fell flat in the 3rd inning with a doughnut, while Rack was able to finish it with walk off HR from Chipper (who was 4-4, 3HRs in the game-same line as Belle). Kiner also had a multi HR game for Rack.
Game 2; Rack kept the pace putting up 12 runs in two innings.  Foxx and IROD were both 2-2 (2HRs).  Mitchel capped Ultimate's 2 run assault with an 0-1 (GIDP) effort.
Series MVP goes to IROD; 5-5, 2HRs, 4 RBIs.  Belle also had a nice 3HR series (6 RBIs).
LVP goes to Mondesi; despite a HR, batted only .333 (lowest in the series).
Don't blame...Stargel; 3-4, 2HRs, 5 RBIs in series loss.

Fighton vs Weathermatt
Game 1; was all Fighton, putting up 15 runs in 2 innings.  Nomar had a perfect game at the plate; 3-3, 3HRs, 7 RBIs.
Game 2 was no different.  Weathermatt could not even put 1 run on the board, while Fighton put up 10 in 2 innings.O'Doule had a perfect day at the plate; 2-2, 2HRs, 5 RBIs.
Series MVP goes to Lefty O'Doule; 4-4, 3HRs, 2B, 7 RBIs.  Nomar also had a great game; 4-4, 3HRs, 7 RBIs.
LVP goes to .... Several; Kingman/Deer/Valentin combined 0-5, 0 RBIs.
Don't blame... Gonzalez; 2-2, HR, 2B in the series loss.

GDavis vs Shooty
Game 1; was tight the entire game. For Shooty, Edmonds was 7-8, HR, 6 RBIs.  Parrish added 5 hits (incl a GS).  For Gdavis, Sauer was 7-8, 3HRs, 9 RBIs.  Shooty jumped out to a decent lead in the bottom of the 8th, but Gdavis responded with 9 runs in the top of the 9th to force Shooty to come to the plate in the bottom half.  Shooty, flopped and put up 0 runs with his 3-6 hitters.
Game 2; was nearly identical to game 1.  The only difference was Shooty scoring 1 more run while still blowing it in the 9th inning.  Despite the loss, Matt Williams had a phenomenal game; 7-7, 5HRs, 10 RBIs.  Parrish was 6-7, 3HRs (GS for second game in a row), 9 RBIs.  Taveras' 0-7 game didn't help matters.  GDavis was just more all around consistent.Aaron & Delgado each had 3HRs.
Series MVP goes to Sauer; 12-15, 5HRs, 14 RBIs in the series sweep.
LVP goes to Taveras; 3-14, 0HRs, 2 RBIs.  Sosa also had an off series; despite hitting 3HRs in the series, only batted .438.
Don't blame... Lance Parrish; 11-14, 4HRs (2 grand slams), 14 RBIs in the series loss.  Greenburg & Matt Williams each had 6HRs and combined for 24 RBIs in the series loss.

AlecTrevylan vs Nacho
Game 1; Nacho made a quick game of it as AlecT could only put up 3 runs in the first 2 innings.  Guererro had 2HRs & 5 RBIs in his only 2 ABs.  Maris was 2-2 (HR).  AROD, Ajones, Biggio, & Collins combined 8-8 (despite no HRs).
Game 2; Same result as game 1; just took 1 more inning.  AROD was 3-3, 2HRs, 3 RBIs.  DiMaggio/Ajones combined 6-6, 2HRs, 5 RBIs.  For AlecT, Ichiro/Bench/Ordonez/Rollins combined 0-7, 0 RBIs, GIDP.
Series MVP goes to Arod; 5-5, 2HRs, 3 2Bs, 4 RBIs.  Ajones also batted 1.000 w/ 1HR.
LVP goes to Ordonez; 0-3, GIDP in series loss.
Don't blame.... Mays; 3-3, RBI in series loss.  Robinson had 2 singles in his only 2 Abs.

BigHath vs Gantry
Game 1; Started out hot for BigHath, putting up 11 runs in the 1st inning.  However, Gantry fought back and by the 3rd inning, was tied up at 17.  Gantry then took a nap in the 3-4 innings putting up 0 runs.  This was enough for BigHath to pile up some runs (capped by a 13 run 6th), and end it.  Thome had a terrific game for BigHath; 7-7, 5HRs, 9 RBIs.  Killebrew had a 3HR game, while Furcal had 3 triples and 2 doubles from the 9-spot.
Game 2; was close thru 5 innings (22-22).  Then BigHath started increasing his lead every inning until finally finishing it in the bottom of the 8th with a Buhner walk-off HR.  Thome stayed hot; 6-7, 3HRs, 5 RBIs.  Greg Vaughn also had a good game; 5-6, 3HRs, 11 RBIs.  Eddie Matthews had a 3HR game for Gantry in the loss.
Series MVP goes to Jim Thome, 13-14, 8HRs, 14 RBIs.  Thome had such a huge series that he went from 16th in BA to 7th.  He went from 56th in HRs and 58th in slugging to 26th & 28th respectfully.
LVP goes to DeShields; .500 BA; lowest in the series.
Don't blame...Eddie Matthews; 11-13, 5HRs, 2 2Bs, 3B, 13 RBIs in the series loss.
