Asked about the West Coast offense, Bill Parcells said that the "East Coast defense is what wins championships." Defensive coordinator Bill Belichick made a brief statement after the game " we executed better than they did".

Truer words concerning Tecmo have not been uttered.

Superbowl VI

The Raiders offensive line stole the show in Superbowl VI.

Kenny Stabler had all day to throw the football behind arguably the best offensive line ever to step on the field. The Bears feared and celebrated 46 defense were unable to contain Kenny Stabler and Cliff Branch.
The 76 Raiders were able to convert over half of their 3rd downs and took full advantage of Jim McMahon's costly 3 interceptions.

Jim McMahon chose a bad day to have one of his worst games ever. Much of the credit deservedly goes to the Raiders physical defensive backfield.

The Raiders now have a Tecmo fantasy record two Lombardi's to showcase. Al Davis proudly accepted the Lombardi trophy from an unenthusiastic Pete Rozelle.

Superbowl VII

07 Patriots 39
07 Redskins 7

The Patriots exploded for 25 points in the fourth quarter as they cruised to a 39-7 Superbowl victory. The Patriots have averaged 19.3 fourth quarter points during their dominating playoff run.

The Patriots defense have allowed only 10 points in the last 10 quarters.

The Redskins lone score came off a Wes Welker fumble which was returned by Lamar Marshall for a touchdown in the second quarter. Other than that, the Redskins were held to 60 total yards on offense.

Joe Gibbs did not shake Bill Belichick's after the game as it appeared that the Patriots ran up the score when the game was very well decided.
