Hey Dee Neer's....

I prostrate myself before this site...I forgot how much I loved this fucking thing...and got appropriately lambasted by the fiancee (the New K) for both spending all day reminiscing on here and for the absurd draft T and I spent doing instead of working today...anyways, thank you for keeping the site up and keeping it going...it was wonderful to read the old threads...we all have problems...

anyways, just to ammend t's previous update...the monday before thanksgiving, t and I will be embarking on an RBI journey that we have scarcely seen... we plan on starting play at around 6 AM and continuing play throughout the day...only stopping (or at least pausing) to eat and shit...we are hoping to get at least 10 series complete...which puts us at anywhere between 40-70 games... we will keep the board updated....but has anyone else ever gone on an RBI marathon like this? What is your best?

I also encourage any and all to do an RBI fantasy draft with their friends who know the game...its really a great time suck...

thats insane...but all together possible...with two players...thats a near miracle...if you threw a third in to rotate, you could very well achieve it...we like to play series...so that would give the off guy a chance to rest...but still...24 straight is my new Everest....

they "played" for 24 hours straight, but they had a 3rd guy and they took shifts.

nacho and i legitimately played, just the two of us, for 15 hours straight.  we only stopped to go to the bathroom, there were no breaks in between games.

that makes more sense...I wouldn't put it past t and myself to get a good 15 hours in....the big problem is that if it is a nice day out...whiffle ball may also hold sway...we shall see....

Threads like that are always enjoyable, so definitely keep us in the loop.  15 hours is a LONG time to play RBI, that is fkn nuts....

that certianly would be a long time....but if we start at 6 with some coffee and donuts....we can stop at noon for lunch....and maybe get until 5 or 6 for dinner....and play through the night...my job makes me stay up until all hours of the night....im sure I can apply the same staying power to RBI

I love that you've branded this event "The Renaissance". Do you think we could get sponsored? Maybe by the local pizza shop down the street? Free pizza is the only thing that could rival a full day of RBI in terms of joy returned. I can't wait for this. Though I'm not optimistic that 15 hours is an attainable goal - M (my girlfriend of 7 years and the person I live with) will surely not want to see RBI on the tv when she gets home from work. She cringed when I showed her the RBI ROM I installed on my Mac. The first note of the theme song sent her out of the room shaking her head in disgust. I think she was hoping those days were behind me.

The first series? The B & T "over in four" classic: Detroit (B) vs. St. Louis (T).

this reminds me of those contests where a person has to stay attached to an automobile or whatever the longest (out of a group of people) to win the damn thing.  and they are allowed bathroom breaks.

i think if someone is going to give you a new car, you should at least be required to piss and shit yourself.

24 hours in a row?  that's nothing.  i've been playing RBI for 21 years straight.  it's just that i stop to eat, sleep, work, and do hundreds of other things...but it still counts because I think it's a streak.  oh wait...you mean streaks only count if you actually are playing consecutively?  that's right, nacho and i DO have the longest continuous streak.
