I must say that about a few months back rbi was not a part of my life...then i came across this drinking game...and it revolutionized our campus. every weekend, and now after graduation, we still play it and follow the rules like it's our bible. RBI for NES will forever be a part of my life....the greatest game ever! and i have many friends that will thank you guys for creating this drinking game, cuz w/o it, who knows what i'd be doing on my weekends. thanks!

Roogs:

Thanks for posting and welcome!  Good to see the drinking game making an impact.  What school was this?

You guys have any alternate drinking or playing rules?

BDawk

Gantry, you've touched yet another person.

Gantry

Hey, you can't prove that in court.  My word against theirs...

you might know it, benedictine university, in lisle, next to naperville (no one knows lisle, but everyone knows naperville). It took over our school, mainly the football team which i am not a part of. But many a drunken 'accidents' occured and ugly women found attractive b/c of this game.
We added about 6 rules, don't remember all of them w/o going back to the rules, but i know 2 new ones were one drink for every run scored and a waterfall if a hr lands in that box below the lights and above the seats, starting with the hitter and ending the waterfall with the picther. it's only fun if there's a bunch of guys watching. If you have a bunch of guys watching, do you all pick a team to drink/cheer with?

roogs

do you guys ever play eachother non-straight pitch?
ever have public tournaments?

Gantry

I know that place, think I went there a few years back with a friend who was buying Bob Dylan tickets.  Had a buddy in Lisle awhile back....

Waterfalls, not a bad idea.  Other players watching have no obligation to drink, but most do at their own pace.  Only new rule we are likely going to add (not official yet) is that if it's an RBI'ers Birthday, everyone in the house has to drink for their ABs, good or bad.  A group drinking social, the best way to celebrate!

Gantry

Non straight pitch games are rare, but they do happen.   No public tourneys, but Mike Beales has one coming up at the end of June.  I think it's in Brookfield, check out his page if you are interested:

Many of us on the forums play non-straight pitch and sober, and there is a tourney coming up soon, as Gantry mentioned.

sober. is there any other way to play non-straight pitch.
i'll play either way. the game is incredible.
GameStop/Funcoland stopped re-selling nintendo's and their accessories a few of the stores told me. they are selling what they have left and that's it. Is this the end of nintendo as we know it? what if mine breaks?

ultimate7

There must be 100 being sold each day on EBay.

nintendo's are too sensitive. i have no faith in buying one off someone from ebay. i have mine, just in case in breaks i need a backup. robbery might be the next best option. my friends won't know what hit them.

My friend has a new style NES where you don't need to blow into the games and it works every time.  I'm not sure where he got it, and it looks different from the old-school NES.  Hopefully someone here has more info.

T Roogs

i had one of those. don't even remember where i got it. the game goes into the top and it worked great every time. unfortunately i made a huge mistake. broke up with a girl who loved to play my nintendo. especially tecmo bowl during football season. well she never answered or returned calls. although i got drilled all the time from friends and family to get some balls and walk up to her door, i never did. just bought a new one which doesn't work that great. that's one part of my life i will always regret. leaving that system in her apt.

Most Nintendos when they go bad just need a new adapter inside.  They are cheap and easy to replace, makes your NES work like new...

If you don't want to go that route, buy some rubbing alcohol and use that to clean your games.  That and a new adapter will fix 95% of old Nintendo problems...

T Roogs

how do you get to the adapter? do you have to open up the NES?

I rarely check this board, or my hotmail account. But today I happened to check my hotmail account for hte first time in weeks and there was an email telling me there was a response to this thread. What gives? why did I get an email?

When you start a thread it gives you the option of receiving an email when a reply is posted.  Since you started this thread on your first day on dee nee, it isn't surprising that you checked this box.  I did the same thing with my ver first thread.

Ditto.

Also, at our Dee-Nee fest later this month, someone has to play strassy in a round of the drinking game.  He is incredible.  I am speaking in terms of our version of Anything Goes, however.
