Utah was not the baddest squad in bases loaded...Jersey was.  they had the most retarded murderers row.  Seem to remember Hawaii was pretty stacked as well.

Blades of steel from what i remember had no differences in player attributes from team to team.  gee, nice pick butt hole.

Tecmo SB lions?  I doubt they are even considered a top 5-7 team in most "experts" circles.  I dont play TSB, but i do know of at least 5 teams better than detroit without putting much thought into it.

I'll throw my 0.02 in and mention the Japan version of Tecmo Bowl (1990) SF 49ers.  This units offense is much improved over the 1989 american version of SF.

And just for the fuck of it has a defense on par with, if not better than NYG's LT/Banks combo.  That SF squad is down right unfair to the rest of the game.

He's an idiot.  He couldn't beat the CPU in Bill Walsh against FSU?  Clemens and Clark, I think he played each game once

I played some tecmo this weekend, and I had forgotten how bigger running backs in that game could break the Giants tackles.  Quite disappointing....

By bigger do you mean Mack, Bo, and Walker?  They can't break tackles against human defenders.  Unless those humans have big fat slow thumbs.

I was just thinking that, you sure you also pressing the buttons Reds?  Or is that a "hit the buttons to run faster" myth in Tecmo?

OK I signed up to set the SF record straight.  I think if he listed Boston alone it's debatable but you can still see it.  San Fran on the other hand can't compare.  Does anyone consider them a top3 team in any format?  Maybe one or two folks would put them 3rd in anything goes...

I dunno.  Anytime I'm in a one on one situation where I got a guy wrapped up with LT or Banks they can never take the guy down and get thrown.  I suppose I have big fat slow thumbs.

I went ahead and signed up as well.

Your comment may have been a tad nicer than mine.

I think Philly was the best team on Bases Loaded.  Jersey had Paste and Bay -- Past of the .467 average (or something crazy like that ) but he wasn't as good as his stats indicated.

Philly had solid hitters, good power, and a good pitching staff.

Paste also had 60 homers, I think, but he could be neutralized - he was one of the guys who would charge the mound and get ejected if you hit him.

Easily better than the Lions:
Giants (assuming you can change the playbook)
49ers
Bills
Chiefs
Bears
Eagles

Arguably better:
Vikings (awesome defense, poor offense)
Raiders (best defenders in inconvenient spots)
Bengals
Chargers
Oilers

Barry was awesome, but the QB and receivers were mediocre, and the defense was only decent (fast LOLB with no hitting power, above-average SS, one above-average ILB, good NT).  Also, Barry wasn't even the best RB in the game - Bo was faster, and I think he even had more hitting power.

BeefMaster

Also, his analysis of Griffey is way off - Junior did not hit a homer every time up, and I don't know that he was even any better than Barry Bonds (or whatever the guy's fake name was) in that game.

I completely disagree, Paste was a fkn hammer.  If you didn't hit him, he's going deep every game...

I hate lists like these, they are the list equivalent of Family Guy.  Rather than putting thought into it, I think he just picked 25 sports games he liked and named random teams, so people could read the list and say "OH I REMEMBER KEN GRIFFEY BASEBALL ON SNES DSLFHLSDFUOSDFSDOIFSDFS!!!!!"

I read his previous list, and he claims that the one game he lost as the Red Wings was because his girlfriend came over and he had to simulate.  First of all, I call shenanigans and bet anything that this guy is a virgin.  Secondly, it's called TURN OFF THE PLAYSTATION.  No cosmic force is mandating that you simulate to finish, just turn it off and start over again.

This reminds me of that thread that I made about Larry King making up a story about Bob Gibson just so he'd have something to say on the baseball documentary that he was puzzlingly interviewed for.

EDIT: Just saw attabobble's comment..AWESOME...good to see we are on the same exact page.  i heart that.
