They asked this on ESPN today.  Interesting question.  I didn't realize that Dawson didn't come to the Cubs until he was 32.  I believe he was a Cub in RBI (his best season), so that might help.  I still say Expos.

Gantry

Hard to remember him as a non-Cubs, but growing up in Chicago might have something to do with that

Same here.  Also, he was on the Cubs longer than the Expos during my lifetime.

anyone ever notice that if you drop a deuce on someones windshield in sub-freezing temperatures, its pretty damn hard to get off once it freezes.

JoeDirt

I thought they took this decision away from the player when Winfield accepted cash to choose the Padres?

They did, but the player has input.

I would vote Expos, but I can see the Cubs argument.

I think more people remember him as a Cub.  However, the same could be said for Gary Carter and the Mets.

Both were better players in Montreal and I have a feeling the HoF will put the Hawk in as an Expo.

Re-Peat

I bet he goes in as a Cub, mostly because the Expos don't exist anymore and it will piss off less people.

I checked and he was quite a bit better as a Cub.

The Cubs still have a team these days?

Maybe...  they definitely still have an overly large fan base of douches

Didn't Henderson do something like this too.
Wasn't it even part of his contract with the Rays?

I said it once and I'll say it again - stock is smart

I always remember Dawson best as an Expo

True.  I think I was in middle school when Hawk went to the Cubs.  I hated the Cubs, so he went from being a family friend to being a traitor at that point.  That probably has something to do with it too.

You're thinking of Wade Boggs.  I think Fred McGriff may have done something similar as well (he also played for the Rays around the same time).

Me too.

Majority of his damage was as an Expo. All the SBs, 2 MVP runner ups, Gold Gloves, ROY and 2 playoff seriess.

His Expo days are when he made his rep. The OF arm, glove, speed etc.

Barton still had more to drink than I, he won this fest...

I think Barton had just the right amount last night.
