QuoteSub Dave Henderson for the all mighty Spike Owen. Even though Owen's stats are extremely enticing, you must take him out.

Pinch hitters with "H" in their name have more power.

QuoteMike Witt is the closer and should only be brought in during a save situation. It may sound superstitious, but he'll get rocked if you bring him in too early, trust me.

Say what?

Witt is without a doubt the best starter on the team.

Attezz

Than why isn't he in the hall of fame?

LOL.   I'm guessing that Gantry was being sarcastic when he mentioned Owen's "enticing" stats.

Not many people on this planet even make it to the Major Leagues, let alone manage to hit above .230

It's pretty impressive, if you ask me, back when Owen played there were approximately 4.5 billion people on this Earth, yet he was one of only about 300 during his time to hit above .230, the odds of that happening are approximately 1/15,000,000, if you don't find that enticing, fine, but some of us understand just how rare a feat Mr. Owen accomplished.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Witt is without a doubt the best starter on the team.

This was written with the straight-pitch rules in mind, which doesn't allow for curveballs or drop balls with two strikes.  Witt doesn't change speeds much or have much of a fastball, and those traits are more important in straight pitch than curve and drop (which are far more important in anything-goes style).

This is correct, but actually Witt's fastball isn't too shabby - can definitely fool a hitter when used sparingly.  All our rankings and information are based on straight pitch.  For better team reviews in curve pitch I'd highly recommend checking out TBT's fantastic Tecmo Vs RBI page.
