Hi Guys,

Just wanted to share this with your community. We're having an R.B.I. tournament November 12th. There will be a few other tournaments being played that day as well.

Thanks!

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

Looked up flights just in case. Cheaper to get there than I thought.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

It would be awesome if someone from this community made it up! We have another guy flying from Sacramento to play in the NHL'94 tournament.

We will give some prize money to the winner as well.

I now have 4 people signed up!(myself included in that)...small number but getting there.

Shooty

Awesome.  If you ever have one of these closer to Toronto, count me in.

We ended up with 6 players for the tournament. I went 3-0 during round robin with 39 runs for and 8 against. Then I choked in the semi and blew a 5-2 lead in the last two innings including a walkoff home run in the 9th. The result stung, but it was a fun time all around!

Gantry

Tough loss, who was pitching and who was batting?  I'm just going to guess Donnie Moore was pitching

I was wrong..I thought it was a walk off...but I was home team...regardless I still blew it.

heres the video

Wow, Mookie fkn Wilson.  That's a hearbreaker right there.

Can I ask what you did for the camera/streaming setup, was it complicated?  That looks great, would be pretty solid for our upcoming drinking game tournament on the 26th .

halifax

Unfortunately I didn't look after the stream, another guy did. I can try and find out some details.

The camera was just on his laptop. But I'm not sure what software he used.

If you can fire off a quick question that would be appreciated.  If not, no biggie.  I'll start investigating this weekend, I think we can get 2-3 live views if I play my cards right!

Below is info from a guy called Smozoma who was there at the stream. One of the smartest buds from nhl94.com. Side note: He actually discovered the weight bug in the SEGA NHL'94 version in the coding.

Stuff needed for streaming:
Laptop with a respectable CPU (i5, i7 recommended).
Network connection with a consistent speed over 2Mbit/s in order to stream live in high quality.
OBS Studio software for streaming: https://obsproject.com/download
A video capture device with composite inputs, such as by
Elgato (https://www.elgato.com/en/video-capture) or
Dazzle (http://www.pinnaclesys.com/PublicSite/us/Products/dazzle/dvd-recorder-hd/) or
Avermedia (http://www.avermedia.com/professional/product/c039p/overview)
(I don't know which is best -- the Elgato I got works fine with NES/SNES but the Sega video is corrupted)
It helps to have a good microphone, especially one with a volume dial and mute button on it, such as:
Samson Meteor: http://www.samsontech.com/samson/products/microphones/usb-microphones/meteormic/
For the player video I used the webcam built into the laptop, but I don't recommend that.  Get a separate USB webcam, probably one with a stand or that can go on the top of a TV somehow.
Composite (A/V) splitter such as
A powered box like this: https://www.amazon.ca/HDE-Composite-Video-Powered-Splitter/dp/B009NK550I
Or cheap cables like this: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/2M-AV-AUDIO-VIDEO-COMPOSITE-RCA-PHONO-STACKABLE-SPLITTER-CABLE-RED-WHITE-YELLOW-/330430595149
Notice that there are a lot of USB devices... If your laptop doesn't have enough ports, get a USB hub such as
USB 3.0: http://www.vantecusa.com/en/product/view_detail/645
USB 2.0: https://www.insigniaproducts.com/pdp/NS-PCH5421/5629008
When it comes to the USB devices, make sure that if your laptop doesn't have any USB 3.0 ports (the blue ones), you only get USB 2.0 stuff.

You also need a http://twitch.tv account to stream to, so sign up for one.
TIP: There is an important option to enable in Twitch, which is video archiving, which saves your videos for 14 days (during which time you can pick out games to turn into "highlights" which I think means they are saved forever, but look into that to be safe...): https://help.twitch.tv/customer/portal/articles/1575302-videos-on-demand

TIP: After putting a checkmark on the archiving option, you have to scroll all the way down and click "save changes" or it won't archive your stream..

These videos should tell you what you need to know about OBS Studio: https://obsproject.com/forum/resources/full-video-guide-for-obs-studio-and-twitch.377/

TIP: There's a "Start Streaming" (to twitch) button and a "Start Recording" (to hard drive).  Use both.  Between games, click "Stop Recording" then "Start Recording" to start a new recording file for each game.  You do this because you don't want one gigantic 10 GB file on your hard drive at the end of the day!

TIP: While streaming, use another computer or the Twitch phone app to watch and listen to your stream to make sure the audio levels are good (can hear the game and the voices -- monitor it throughout the day because if the bar/locatoin gets louder you may need to adjust the levels).

TIP: bring some headphones as well, so you can listen to the laptop audio

TIP: If you've followed all the steps with OBS and your capture device and the capture source doesn't show up in OBS Studio, try the 32-bit version of OBS (it installs both at the same time)
