Yeah that specific pick is just dumb.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Also, did Nacho drop in to make Shooty's proxy pick and then not make his next pick? Power move.

Isn't nomaaa up? Or is it my turn?

Nacho

Shit, it's me. I'll blame not having the first page updated. Drafting now.

Don't forget, I'm a master draft strategist.

I only need an OF and a 2Ber to fill out my offense.  4 2Bers have been taken and then next 5 I view as pretty much being equal.  And once the next 3 are taken, there won't be another one taken until very late in the draft, so just going to wait that out.  For OF, only Temp needs a third.  I figure most people will take an SP before a bench player so can wait another round or two before I go go for an OF.  SP is a wild card, but with these beefed up offenses, I wanted to make sure I got two guys with good stamina ratings since innings will probably last longer.

lol @MScott! You got a bottom tier SP, Shooty  :D

And I wouldn't bet on more SP's being selected over bench players considering how past drafts have gone. You may be in for a shock by the time you are up next and the OF's you projected to be available will be sitting comfy on somebody's bench since that'll be a LOT of power to pass up. Nobody has the combined historical stats on one sheet besides me, so I know the 3 different tiers of the top SP's and RP's.

And Nacho with the ultimate cock block by taking Joyner before Team TBG can get to him, haha - although GDavis will fall to Team TBG.

Tempo's picks will be interesting. What OF will he take? Hendrk (20/849/124), Guerro (12/849/128), and Shrdan (28/831/134), are top 3 OF left according to power. Then for his 9th pick, will it be a bench player with A LOT of power considering the +20 boost coming off the bench to pinch hit, or will he gamble with a SP that he has no intel of?

We almost took Joyner last round - but figured one of Joyner/Gdavis/Mttngly would make it back around.  Calculated risk paid off.

I was also expecting that trio to be available and I was set on Joyner until I looked at the stats from all the seasons combined then became convinced when I calculated Batting Power - (Contact * x). So Mtlngly gets a better piece of the ball over enough at-bats and that's why Donny Baseball's stats outperform Joyner's every season. GDavis does damage, but he won't score runs like Joyner and Donny, as well as avoid put outs and double plays. You got the worst 1B as far as overall value, buddy.

The difference between those 3 is insignificant.  And you're forgetting the style points for drafting my namesake.

Forgot about OF Lindmn (38/861/124) who is still on the board and ahead of the OF's above strictly on power.

Wrong. You just have opinion there, but understood for namesake ... which won't make GDavis better than Donnie Baseball!

Some of the pitchers being taken are not the ones that I remember being good

SP Career ERA leaders for the 5 seasons registered. lol@GDavis! The sheet is only for SP's. Fuck you Nacho. How were you on to Cox? You must remember season FRBI VI and of course the WS! No wonder you remembered Cox's mastery. He did have a bad year for the Rebel Alliance under RePeat, but it wasn't Nolan Ryan bad.

Nomaaa made a good pick. Viola is in the top tier ... somewhere! RP's seems to be a crapshoot after the top 4 - I posted that a few pages back but no names!

I should say, some pitchers are better hitters than others from what the stats say. And it appears to be consistent when you look at each season individually. Shooty, you got the best value at SP since Gooden is 4th in career average for hitters. Honestly, there is a huge gap between the top tier hitting pitchers and the bottom tier hitting pitchers.
