Great recap.  Speaking of Darky's trades - Darky offered me Baylor in a trade and the Baylor promptly died IRL.  Coincidence?

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Hoo boy there's some questionable baserunning this week in the EZ Listeners vs. GDavis & Friends game.

That was strange! I was going to mention that as well. Bear in mind that I rescinded the trade before you could respond. Baylor may or may not have been offered to another owner in a big swap trade. Almost fell through. Why did I trade away DCincs and Burks? I wanted higher contact guys with good or decent power - meaning more hits. Also, Leonrd is an Empire style player and he was with me in my last season when we went 16-6 and then choked to the Banana Hammocks in the League Championship Series when we blew a 3 games to 1 lead. Still pissed about that bs, but we'll get the Hammocks back when I start my Fantasy RBI Champions League in a couple of few weeks. I'm still debating on the format right now.

My new favorite podcast! Fighton, you did an awesome recap - real professional and entertaining. I loved the preview for next week's games as well. This sort of thing creates a mythology for Fantasy RBI and keeps us and outsiders captivated around the drama during the season. The analysis of the games crushed it!

Curse of the Namlos?

LMAO! So there's no way I can trade Baylor this season since I'll need a ghost in the machine to help out the Empire. This year it looks like we are going to have to grit and claw our way into the playoffs thanks to me basically having the worst draft I can imagine.

I was running some sim games today and still am. So I may have my own little preview for this week's games later on in this thread.

And again, thanks Fighton for the podcast. It's brilliant and increases the quality of the FRBI product.

Why didn't Darky offer me a trade?  I'm interested in wheeling and dealing.

I think he's having trouble figuring out the exchange rate

That was a roller coaster.

Canseco continues to underperform - but it's clear that his spot in the order isn't preventing him from coming up in big spots.

Nacho

Excellent work by Manfredi on that podcast.

Cansco was 2/5 with 1RBI and one 2B! Will GDavis continue to "trust the process"  :D

You guys had 4 putouts that left runs on the board. Grich lead the team in hits today with 3! Your bench went 2-3! And Ripken's laser off the wall forced GDavis out at second!

Anyways, you guys pulled it out after being behind. You guys outscored the EZ Listeners 8-2 from the 5th inning, after being down 8-5. So wow, the Ryan Express had a scoreless outing.

I loved the hit and run in the first inning when O.Smith took off from first and C.Davis knocked him in with a double. Then in the 9th, with the bases juiced, Smith choked in the clutch when he lined one towards Gaetti in which Gaetti made a heroic dive to catch the ball and end the game.

Another good game and what a way to start the second week. I was going to project that GDavis would more than likely win in a tight game, like by 1 run or so, and that's what happened. We had another low scoring game - good stuff - #deadballera

By the way, Dawson was 3/5 with three singles  ???  Nobody had a really monster day besides the pitchers who all pitched outstanding.

Empire already panicking

Order shall be in place. Sutton was late to a team meeting, so he got the death choke. We sensed something in the Force and next game will tell. We feel confident with our changes.

I couldn't find a good tradeoff for both of us. I mused some package offers, but in the end, I would have had to take too big of a chance. I may return to you since your door is open for negotiations and that we are perhaps a trade away from putting an Empire style product on the field.

Talk shit all you want about Canseco in the leadoff slot - but look what happened to the EZ Listeners.  They had Ozzie up in the 9th, 2 outs, bases juiced.  I know for a fact that's not who they wanted up in that spot.

That's why you optimize the lineup.

I said before it makes sense and I'm with you with that approach. However, Canseco doesn't like to hit lead off. He's jinxed in that spot, but trust the process! haha! Players thrive better in certain spots in the lineup. Canseco has gone public about how he despises hitting leadoff. He said so on his hotline number! And I saw him twitching twice as fast and twice as hard for his first two at-bats when he was hitless to start the game, again!

I don't know why Beef has no authority to make the change and I have no idea why he keeps trusting the process, haha! Keep him there though and watch him twitch in anger!

I am impressed at your dedication to defending this batting order.

I'm a big sabremetrics guy.  We're still working off a very small sample size.

Keith Hernandez is showing well of the bench - I'm considering a Hernandez/GDavis platoon.  Let's take it to PM.

I'm worried that we're messing with Canseco's head and altering his approach.  Word around the clubhouse is that he's insulted by the move to leadoff, because he considers himself an "RBI man" and that the leadoff spot is for "guys who can't hit the ball out of the infield".

That guy has always been a hothead.  You drafted him, so he's your problem.  Go talk to him.

BeefMaster

FACT: Canseco is one of two players I have seen ejected from a game in person.

Hahaha, he has a gargantuan ego. Have you guys suggested he see a specialist for his constant twitching as well as a psychologist for his raging temper? Hey, btw, the GDavis & Friends offense was more productive across the board in the preseason tournament where Canseco was hitting in the 4-hole. It's so funny, Canseco is pissed off for his first 2-3 at-bats, then he calms down and starts hitting. I wonder if the same trend will continue next game! It's the leadoff CURSE for Canseco!

And this 8 team league sure does leave everybody with decent options on the bench and for platooning ... and perhaps to make trade packages more attractive  ;)

Oh, this just in. A reporter managed to get some shots in the GDavis and Friends clubhouse. He was spotted posing and talking to himself that he looks too big and powerful to be a leadoff hitter. It's really messing with his ego and sense of masculinity.

We have noticed these issue as well.  Currently, our plan is to have the trainer double Canseco's usual pre-game steroid dosage.
