I think you should need to have 4 strikes to get a strikeout.  But only for the playoffs.

Or any foul ball with two strikes is an out for the playoffs would be more accurate.

If you mean equally stupid, then yes.

Actually, I didn't mean that and explained why earlier! I've yet to hear a good reason for the sake of discussion. I don't think the 10-run mercy should be treated dogmatically. It's not a sacred doctrine and it has nothing to do with the actual rules of the game, such as altering the rules for strikes for an out or having foul balls count as outs (which I believe was true in the early days regarding foul balls). So the comparison you made doesn't fit and I get how the idea for such a change for the playoffs makes you nervous since you seem to think it hurts you! haha, the Shooties are more nervous than relaxed with the winning record!

Anyways, would any other owner like to weigh in on this?

We're not changing anything for this season. If anything I'd say just eliminate the mercy rule for future seasons.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

My position is that the rules are established for this season and shouldn't be changed.

Hey guys I was thinking that maybe we should just change the rom from RBI over to Bases Loaded for the playoffs.  Just wanted to throw it out there to the Commissioner since my team in under performing and its super important to me that everyone pays attention to my asinine ideas ALL THE TIME.

Any other owners want to weigh in on that?

I thought it was a good discussion point. I watched a fantasy game on a Champions League ROM I created with the 15-run mercy rule, and the OC Legions of Doom from 2010 (champs) was down 13 runs for 2 innings during the game and they came back to beat the 2004 PoopyDicks (2004 finalists) by 6 runs. Whether my team is in the playoffs or not, I thought it would be more interesting and exciting to have a playoffs with a 15-run mercy rule. I can care less, I was rather aiming for a rich discussion about the idea. Apparently, not too many owners can care due to the response, and Fighton made it clear and we respect that.

And my team is a Championship contender and I have a good feeling we'll make the playoffs since I have a really solid team. The two wins we have were managerial wins with the moves we made and at 2-2, we feel good about our position with 10 games to go. WE FEAR NOBODY! The Force is with the Empire!

And Donnie Baseball is comin' Nacho!

Let's be honest.  You won your last game because fighton used his time machine to reverse all your dumb trades.  Not because of your genius managerial moves.

Darky

We'll see you in a couple weeks buddy! Game circled on the schedule! True though about the trades, but not about putting Burlsn in the leadoff spot and bringing in Sutclf to start. Anyways, pass me the pepper for the steak I'm cooking in your kitchen  :D ;D  The Empire matches up really with your team and we can't wait to throw down!

If you are going to make lineup changes moving forward, PM them to me. It's a lot easier if I don't have to keep track of two threads plus PMs.

The Chilis lineup is terrible.  Bob Boone as cleanup?  Ugh.

Reds

I cant get production out of Murphy and Evans.  At least Boone has produced.

HoJo has been a nice surprise.  But I'm changing the lineup for next week's game.  Gonna try Jack Clark at leadoff.  Cant hit into a double play if no one is on base.

Murphy and Evans are going to the bottom of the order.

Matter of fact, if anyone wants Dale Murphy or Dewey Evans, make me an offer.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who's got huge-power hitters who cannot hit a fucking homer.

Four games in, and my top pick Bell has, I think, one homer.

Shooty

Using darky logic they aren't hitting home runs because they don't like where you are batting them in the order.

Nacho

Do you have a better explanation?!?!?

nomaaa

if reggie hits one in the 3 hole, i'm gonna hire darky as a bench coach in later seasons

mostly so i can blame him for my failures
