Not sure if you guys have seen this, but I know there's Tecmo fans here.  There's a new game called Legend Bowl and it's been developed by one guy who quit his job to make this game.  He's put tons of time and effort and passion into the game.  He's released it on Steam for Early Access for like $15.  A bunch of us are working on an official NFL mod for it...

Yes, can play vs. friends locally, and using Parsec you can play online.  It's such a good game...fully customizable...

He wants to do it on consoles, but right now it's still just early access, so we're basically being beta testers for him.  It's a fully playable game, but it still needs polish.  Getting on consoles is ridiculously painful for indie devs.
