Sheffield is the MVP this year by a close vote.Manny is having a batter season, but Sheffield has come up with more big hits when they need it.

Baines

I just threw O'Neill out there since he's the only Yankee player I've liked in the past 15 years.  Of course this is probably only because of his years with the Reds.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

Even if you find a "likeable" Yankee, you'll have trouble getting a Red Sox fan to admit it.

Not true.  I like Bernie Williams and Hideki Matsui.  Solid players, not dicks like AJob.

I like Kevin Brown. He's funny because he's stupid.

I have a lot of respect for Jeter.  The guy plays too hard to be hated on.  He plays ball and he's a good leader.  That said I am looking forward to when he's too stiff to play short effectively and hes batting .268 with an OBP under .320 in the last couple years of his huge contract.

Jeter swallows.
Jeter could have easily pulled up on that foul ball he ended up diving into the after he caught it, he took about four steps without trying to slow down, Jeter is a great player but he is always doing unnessary actions to make plays look spectacular
What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

your right, Jeter plans it all out.  Before that game he said, "if  there is a pop foul on the 3rd base side, if I time my sprint just right, I can get myself all kinds of busted up. It  will look spectacular!"

BDawk

...because you just mentioned Mattingly.

I don't like him because every freakin yankee fan thinks he was the greatest player during the 80s.
He was good, but not as good as yankee fans think he was.

dvldog

I don't like him because there's a push for him to get into the Hall of Fame.

Mattingly  shouldnt get in HOF. He had a good 4 year run, and is helped by the fact that he was a Yankee. Hype. Other than that he is Cecil Cooper.
Coop was a smooth brother

Everyone likes the Yankees.  Thats why you hate them.  Not everyone gets to grow up loving the best team in baseball.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

dvldog

we aren't supposed to win.  you are.

fknmclane

Yeah, yeah.  That's not what I keep hearing from all the sports experts.  And with the second highest payroll in the league, the expectations are pretty high.

you guys can't rely on your history one minute, then discard it when some expert discredits you.

the problem with yankee fans is that they are not well-rounded baseball fans.  you may be able to handle winning, but losing is hard to swallow.  red sox fans can handle both.

this is why so many red sox go to the yankees.  you don't see as many yankees going to the red sox.

the same goes for fans.

and i am drunk, but i can still type.

and there is a fire alarm in my building, but i already heard someone say we are going to have a fire alarm today which means i am not going outside because i know the builiding is not on fire and i want to keep drinking.

(i accidentally wrote "i know the building is on fire" - that was funny)
