the problem with yankee fans is that they are not well-rounded baseball fans.  you may be able to handle winning, but losing is hard to swallow.  red sox fans can handle both.

This is a fairly good point.  Red Sox fans have been losing for quite some time now.  But I do know what it's like to cheer on a shitty team.  Look no further than Pags, Roberto Kelly and Donnie Baseball on those shitty as 80's teams.

they won the world series in 1978.  you guys need to experience a drought.  the biggest drought they've had in your lifetime is like 20 years.  you guys don't have a curse attatched to you.  and once again i will use the bully in the playground analogy because you guys claim to apply the curse to us year after year.

yankee fans are synonymous with bandwagon.  every drooling retard i know will tell the sox suck, but cant tell me how many homers lou gehirg hit.

i am a red sox fan because i can deal with the losses, can stick with a team, love history, love the game, and can quote stats at the drop of the hat.  i like to drink and throw things at the tv, and when they play the red sox facilitate that.  i like to be a little different, which is why i wear my sox hat in a sea of braves paraphenelia here in the godamn south (i hate the fucking south and all these obliviously self-rightous morons)... i forgot my rant so ill go now

Is Arkansas part of the south?
This thread needs to be moved.

dvldog

yes it is, and south carolina is still fighting the civil war

the moral of the story is that if Major League is on and the fire alarm goes off, stay inside and finish the movie

I would have guessed Kansas City or Pittsburgh for some reason...

No, but seriously, the south sucks.

The company I work for transferred me to the Fayetteville AR area from KC 2months ago.
I play baseball for the KC PIRATES.

ShitPaw had a few too many...

How many homers did Yaz hit?  And why does it make you more of a fan for knowing that?  ;)

I'm tired of cry baby Red Sox fans attacking my character (in regard to baseball) because they cannot attack the baseball team that I love, who is also their rival.

Get a life, ShitPaw.  Start talking about things other than the stereotype you place upon me, because I am a Yankee fan.  Stop talking about how I need a serious drought--20 years IS a long time, when you're in your 20s and 30s (like McLane and I are).  Stop acting like you have suffered through the Red Sox drought since 1918.  The reality is, the longest drought McLane and I have is 18 years ('78 to '96); the longest drought you have is your age (what, 24?).  There's not that big of a difference.

Are you running for office or are you trying to talk baseball?  ...then don't speak to the made up "bad" things about me and/or my team--speak to the things that make your Sox so beloved in your heart.

the point is that they don't know shit about their team.  (outside of this site) it's hard to find a yankee fan who has claimed to be a yankee fan when they weren't doing so well.

what the hell are you talking about.  i'm talking about bandwagon fans; the millions of bandwagon fans.  if you aren't one of these it doesn't apply to you.

JoeDirt

That's a joke.  Did the Yankees draw any crowds in the 80s and early-mid 90s?

Most Yankee fans my age grew up with these teams and can quote stats.

I might as well just start saying that all Red Sox fans are cry babies, if you can generalize that all Yankees fans are bandwagon fans.

Cry Baby!  :'(

i didn't mean to claim all yankee fans.  there is clearly a contingent that does not follow the team just because they win games.  every team has true fans like this.

this is about the yankee team, and i hate them because they attract so many bandwagon fans.

high attendance during their weaker seasons doesn't prove the strong contingent of yankee fans.  it just shows that people in new england like them, and seeing a yankee game is still a tourist attraction.  when the yankees sucked, and i was a kid, none of my friends liked them.  but, in 96 they all started sporting NY hats and bashing the Sox.

i'm not whining; i'm not a crybaby.  i'm attacking yankee fans, and there is a difference.
