The Baseball Tonight crew are on temporary hiatus - those things take a long time to do. Plus, this game doesn't need much of a breakdown. I think I'll save the Baseball Tonight crew for the weekly recaps. Also, since I keep my own score, hit totals might be slightly off from the unofficial RBI Baseball scorekeeper.

Game Summary:

The Fighting Tony Danzas needed someone to step up if they wanted to avoid an 0-3 start and defeat BeefMaster. What they got were three people stepping up, as Eric Davis, Keith Hernandez and Benito Santiago each were 4 for 4 to lead their team to a 17-7, five-inning victory in a Fantasy RBI League game played Tuesday at Tengen Stadium.

Davis hit two home runs for the FTD (1-2) and drove in five runs. The FTD scored in at least two runs in every inning, and pounded out 23 hits in 36 at-bats. BeefMaster (1-2) didn't help themselves in the field, committing four errors that lead to three unearned runs.

Roger Clemens (1-1) picked up the victory for the FTD, going all five innings and allowing 13 hits and seven runs. Dick Schofield and George Brett each were 3 for 3 for BeefMaster, with Brett driving in three runs.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

now everyone has won a game but me  :-[

Looking at these game summaries, it's very interesting to note just how much scoring happens with two outs. It seems like it's much easier to get a hit with two outs than with no or one outs. It almost makes me wonder if that's not programmed into the game somehow.

My guys are just taking the page out of Boston's notebook, since we're in that spot.  DANZA, bitches.

And Trammell actually got a god damn hit.

You better think about it baby

BeefMaster

Yet another game with Reggie going homerless.  That should never happen.  I'm beginning to question my GM skills.  Ryno is my hero, but he's killing me.

Nice game, defen.

You can't question your GM skills, potatoes is potatoes.  I shook things up a little bit in the order and it seemed to work okay as I actually scored a few runs.

Plus if you had gotten to Nolan Ryan that guy is like the human torch throwing gas on the fire.

Yeah, I'm pretty stunned at the lack of pop by Reggie. He's getting a lot of line drive hits and line drive outs - he's just not getting much lift on his hits.

If you would have told me that after three games Blank Morris would have twice as many HRs as Potatoes, I'd say you were nuts. Maybe it was Meat that has been carrying that duo all along?

how many games are we playing?

i think we'll see more production from Reggie... and hopefully more from Da ShitPaws.

fknmclane

Maybe I'm better off not drafting Reggie?  Nah, he'll come around.  He's the most feared hitter in the game.  He'll probably hit five or six bombs next game, just wait.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

14 games total in the regular season, with a four-team playoff. We'll have an All-Star game after Week 7 - I'm thinking we continue to do an AL vs. NL All-Star game, except using the teams the players came from (i.e. Blank Morris would be on the NL team, Darrell Evans would be on the AL team, etc.).

Computer or otherwise, it's pretty amazing to me that Benito Santiago went 4-4.  Probably never happened before...

Potatoes will be back...

fightonusc

I'm really starting to become a big believer in contact rating after watching all of these games. I don't know if the impact is similar during human games, but it seems to make a huge difference for whether or not guys will put the ball into play or not.

Playing his ROM I have hit pretty well with Santiago, maybe he just took the suck off of him or something.

Did I not mention that I swapped names between Benito and Potatoes? Oops...
