Or two people can take mine and Gantry's spot.

TbT

if we get plenty of NES's going, saturday should pan out with everyone pretty well dispersed throughout the hotel doing thier games for a better part of the day.

TbT

go-jim and briz may not have gotten room yet...gerlost sounds like hes the 3rd or 4th guy in his room.  it'll work out.  also where is nightwulf staying?

the possibilities are endless.

Attabobble, Nightwulf, GoHoosiers and myself are apparently set up to split a room.

This can be added to the Facts page, along with our arrival time of 715 pm and departure of 6 or 7 on Sunday.

#1467
now the most important part of the trip...figuring out the pre-1st pitch music selection that gets piped into my dome for the right frame of mind.

the balls to the wall/all out attack of strapping young lad?  brutal american death metal courtesy of Dying Fetus(AKA the Kirk Gibson of death metal)?  the dreamy soundscapes of Keane?  cold, desolate, heart pumping ice, grimly ladden scandinavian black metal?

so many delicious choices.

So whats the verdict on me playing nude? (well just wearing my lucky cardinals hat.)

Is it legal?

Reds

It isnt what I would call...."illegal"  You certainly wont be arrested for it.

I'm going to take the credit for this one. I e-mailed in a "tip" to Deadspin yesterday about the tournament and got a reply from Will Leitch (one of their editors). Here's the e-mail exchange:

Me:

Dear Deadspin,

The 2007 National RBI Baseball Tournament is happening this weekend in Columbus, OH, with at least 13 players paying $100 each to enter. As a participant two years ago, I can say it was one of the most intense events of my life.

Also, one of the drunkest.

Will Leitch:

OK, this is absolutely amazing. Thank you.

Best,
Will

Me:

No problem,

If you need a site to link to that best represents the general RBI Baseball fanbase in America, I would recommend Dee-Nee.com, which is pretty much the main source for RBI Baseball information on the Web. The forums have daily discussions of RBI Baseball. Hell, I even run a Fantasy RBI Baseball League (people draft players from the game into teams, I simulate the games on an emulator and type up reports.)

To put this in context, the people I play kickball with think this is nerdy and weird. My family is so proud.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

I just sent him some shit too, since I "created" the website in 2005 for JoeD in 20 minutes and had nothing better to do wearing off my buzz after a liquid lunch today.

Also, props to Mr. Dirt for figuring out how to edit the website without having to bug me this year.

Someone should put a sign in the lobby that says "Ohio National RBI Tournament Today in Rooms XXX, XXX and XXX" in case any foot traffic comes in wanting to see games.

Does anyone have a commenter account with Deadspin? If so, absolutely head over and comment in the thread and tell people who love RBI to get to the Dee-Nee Forums now. And even if you don't have a commenter account, submit a guest comment.

Recruitment Drive 2007 starts with this.

Hey,  I just remembered that I in fact have a Deadspin commenter account. Just posted some Dee-Nee info for the masses.

That's fucking awesome.  If Deadspin picked it up it'll be all over the place in no time.  Nice fucking work Richard.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

I just wish I would have thought of it sooner so JoeDirt could get some more sign-ups pre tournament. Maybe JoeDirt should post his cell number on his Web site if people want to join at the last minute.
