Back on topic...

Are any favorites developing during pre-tourney practice?  Anyone care to come up with odds on each player?

By my count, 6 of the Ohio players played in the COTUT (including the entire final four), so it's possible to get an idea of what to expect from them, but everyone else is kind of a wild-card.  Have any of the other players played each other before?  If so, how did those games turn out?

Since I can't go, maybe I'll have to operate as a bookie.

I can safely say that mclane and I will be impressive nonfactors.  But we'll go down drinkin....

I plan to "train" in curve as soon as our yearly straight pitch tournament ends, which is probabaly early/mid may.  The qualifier for the finals is on saturday.  From there, I'll grab Lips/Sperling/Potsie etc and get some curve games in...

I can't believe you posted this now.  I was just thinking the very same thing--I guess it's the Dykstra in us.

Anyway, without regard to the field at large, I do think any of the top four COTUT finishers can win this thing.  I regard the four as pretty close to equal; the winner being the one who gets hot at the right time.

I believe that is what happened at the COTUT.  I do believe Riley and I are exceptionally good at in-game scouting and adjusting to scouting tips on the fly...

The ultimate matchup would be an evening game between myself and Gantry.  It would be the quintessential exercise in futility.  Fuck it...if I gotta play Gantry, I'm calling a straight pitch game right fucking now.
