QuoteI still want to see a side bet for best authentic vintage Tee (usc, no making your own although they are admitedly sweet).

I have to say I will definitely be a frontrunner for this.  I've picked up quite a few good ones from Goodwill over the years.  I'll try to bring along however many I can pack.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

A 2000 story from a Columbus weekly magazine talking about various bar options in Columbus:

I think that Bernie's (can they still possibly have $1 rum and cokes on Fridays?) and Larry's seem like must visits. St. James Tavern also looks promising.

Anyone with experience at the various bars in the Columbus area is welcome to chime in. For reference about the ideal bar for the Dee-Nee community, please see: Dee-Nee The Bar.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

I've been to most of those places once or twice but couldn't really tell you much about any of them.  Any I've been to were at least a couple years ago and usually on a football Saturday which meant I started drinking around 8am and was virtually incoherent by the time we got to the bar.

Nice find. Larry's has $1 PBRs and St. James looks like it could be Dee-Nee the bar with a little photoshop work.

This is all I need to know, I vote for Larrys...

hey Joe! How do you and the other "serious" RBI players feel about intentional walks?
What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

I'm for 'em!  I think it's a part of both RBI and MLB strategy.  Certainly legal in tourney play...

Do you have a list of the participants?  I am sure it is in here somewhere, but don't feel like looking through 30+ pages.

Joe I would seriously consider making up the first round matchups maybe a week before the tourney, I would take your word for it. This would be cool so we could talk some trash and whatnot.

If you're suggesting to have the lottery in advance, we're considering it.  Mostly, we're trying to work out a way where people won't have to trust us.  The COTUT had a web feed on their lottery, but I don't have one/never used one.  I don't know that the effort would really be worth it--it was fun to watch the COTUT lottery, but in reality, I couldn't really tell what the hell was going on.

Just an idea....
Have you considered using some of the money left over after the tourney (assuming not all those who place paid the full price) to get nominal prizes for certain awards?

Maybe...
1.  Best 1 game pitching performance.
2.  Best 1 game offensive performance.
3.  Longest Home Run
4.  Most Home Runs in a game
5.  Most K's in a game
6.  Best deffensive play

Just an idea, I am sure most people would just prefer their refund though.

One way to do it is you have one person assign each team a number, then have another person spit out a random sequence (without knowing which number is assigned to which person).  Then match up the lists.

But honestly, Dirt, despite your reputation I doubt anyone would really accuse you of rigging the tourney.

Maybe this is too simple, but just write the numbers 1-16 on a piece of paper and put in a bucket.  Have each person draw a number (which will be their number).  You get whatever number is left over after the other 15 pick theirs.

When I ran tourneys in college, we used the following method to determine seeding.  Each player gets to play 1 inning against the computer (they can chose any team they want for 1 and 2 player).
The person who scores the most runs gets the best seed down to the last.  Ties can be broken by 1.  ABs, 2. Homers, 3.  Coin flip, etc....

This may seem archaic, but in theory this would mean the best players get the best seed down to the worst.  Or, you could think of this as letting the RBI Gods decide the seeding.

I would doubt it as well. My suggestion would be to have one impartial person draw the seeds. I know that there's probably someone on this board, for example, that isn't playing but we could all trust to be fair and honest with the seeding (frankly, I don't think you or anyone is going to cheat.)

Hell, Bonny can do the draw from his golf course, and send pictures to us as well. And if you don't trust him, he'll beat you to death with his shovel and bury you by the 15th tee box.

I got it! Saturn has 16 moons, we each pick a moon and at the exact point of summer solstice the seeds are picked, closest moon to the sun gets number one seed and so on and so on.
