Spammers some how always figure out subjects that you are interested in.
I have gotten spam before with the letters, "RBI" in them as well.  I have also gottem spam emails with "UFC", "MMA", "NFL", "MLB", "NCAA", "Packers", "Brewers", "Badgers", and "sportsbook" in the subject line.  All of which, had nothing to do with any of these words.  Usually they are about refinancing, mortgage info, debt consolodation, penis enlargement, online drugstore, and other spam bullshit.

It scares me that they are able to get this information.  Luckily since I have switched to Gmail, I have not gotten any spam yet.

They're probably getting your email off of forums like this, as it's accessible by anybody. They determine the content of the website, and spam you appropriately.

I get about 10 spam emails a day in my gmail account, all from I think the same fucking mortgage company.  It's always from a different person but the first line is always the same: "Hello, we tried contacting you some time ago..."  I don't get it, I've NEVER given my gmail account on any website...except dee nee.

Maybe Gantry is an evil mortgage genius.

Because of this thread, I decided to look into my gmail spam folder.  I had to laugh at the results.

Key to no spam = no one that you don't know personally has your e-mail address. The hotmail address I list here (and other places) is spammed to death. My gmail account (which is not "published" anywhere) is spam free, baby.
