one and done for Taylor Mattingly
http://www.nypost.com/sports/yankees/43662.htmTaylor Mattingly won't be following in is father's footsteps. The oldest son of Yankees legend and current hitting coach, Don, has decided to pull the plug on a professional baseball career after two seasons. Taylor, 20, was a 42nd-round pick in the 2003 draft.

"He loved the game, not the lifestyle," Don Mattingly said of his son, who missed all of last year with a shoulder injury after batting .224 (13-for-58) in 24 games for Tampa (Rookie League) in 2003.

I just saw on ESPN that Koby Clemens was the 24th pick in the 8th round of yesterday's draft.  Plays 3rd base.
I've been swimming in raw sewage ... I love it

I can't just let this go, but I've got nothing witty to say about it.

EDIT: Ooh figure out something witty - OK maybe not.

Gantry talk him well, too.

The Cubs drafted Bob Brenly's son in the 43rd round, though it sounds like he's gonna go to college.

Daron (son of Don) Sutton is an announcer for the Brewers. Does he get mention with 2nd generation RBIers? He does form an all RBI (sort of) broadcast team with Bill Schroeder.

FROM ST. LOUIS CARDINLAS WEBSITE

Baby 'Birds: Kevin Jarvis allowed one run and struck out six over six innings in Triple-A Memphis' 4-3 win over Omaha. Raul Gonzalez had two hits. ... Aaron Herr and Kevin Estrada each homered, and combined for seven RBIs, in Double-A Springfield's 13-7 win over Arkansas. Chris Lambert was roughed up again, allowing seven runs (six earned) in 3 2/3 innings. ... Class A Palm Beach dropped a doubleheader against Daytona, 3-1 and 4-0. Mike McCoy had a hit and a walk in each game. ... Jarrett Hoffpauir singled, doubled, walked and drove in two runs in Quad Cities' 10-4 win over South Bend. Kyle McClellan pitched four shutout innings for the save.

Herr, the son of former Cardinal Tom Herr, was the player of the day. The second baseman did a little bit of everything. In addition to his home run and four RBIs, he singled, walked twice and scored three runs.

And this could be the worst player website ever.

That article on Viola's kid never mentions his first name, so I assumed he's a Jr.  Let me know who else I'm missing...

Such a PITA, I think the whole site should be the database.  Am I crazy?

I see it becoming much more if we can get more people to contribute.  It literally takes 3-4 times as long to edit a page on the website than on a wiki.  And most importantly, people don't have to wait for me on the wiki.  insteading of posting updates on the forums, people can simply add it themselves.  But alas, we need more contributors.  ShitPaw and I can't do it ourselves.  Edit people edit!

I think you are gonna get yourself into trouble if you start including Nephews, It's gonna be tougher to maintain.

Viola's kid is Frank Viola III (our "original" Viola is apparently a junior) - he played in a collegiate summer league last year that has a team in Rochester, and I saw a news article when his dad threw batting practice for them.

Oh, I'm ready for the responsibilty.  That or I'll transfer the page the wiki and let others help me out.  The latter sounds like a good idea...
