I like vgp's idea of discussion.  Chili Davis is the man.

I want another discussion, though.  I think everyone agrees that St. Louis sucks ass but I want to hear everyone's thoughts on their best pinch hitter and arguably their second best hitter behind McGee or Pendleton.

One word in RBI speak:  Lindmn

I think St Louis bites, but a friend I grew up with used the Cards as his team of choice. He rarely won.
I will agree with you about Lindeman. He's a hitter. Slow as hell, but gets some crucial hits. I'd say he's good for at least a homer every two games. I just wish he'd hustle a little on the basebaths.
You're going down, chainsaw.

Lindeman is IMHO the 2nd best hitter on Stl, and the best during the games where Jack Clark doesn't show up.  Very consistent with the power and scares the hell out of your opponents.  Usually bats 7th or 8th for me, depending if Ford gets one AB for the lefty hit...

Sometimes I actually like using St.L. They have great starting pitching. Also their speedsters move around the bases & you can score as long as you keep hitting singles & gappers. Once their pitcher tires, or on sinkers you can steal second.

It's when the other team starts hitting bombs where you really see the Cards' weakness. Other than Clark, the birds can't put up 3 quick runs. You really have to watch your pitching with this team.

I always put Lindmn in the lineup immediately.  I don't give Ford the time of day.  He grabs pine right away.  Always has, always will.

Lindmn is definitely their best pop especially when LIttle Big Jack doesn't show up, which is usually often.  My friend did hit three bombs in three at-bats with Little Big Jack the other night.  I couldn't help but throw up in my mouth.

He's definitely a step or two slow but it usually doesn't matter because it's all or nothing.

I must say that Willie E.T. McGee is also the man.  Hits for average, throws well and has damn good speed.  I like using the Cardinals.  I think they're an acquired taste.  You just need to switch to small ball.  But if you don't get Vince and/or Ozzie on, you're fucked.
