I heard Wally Backman and his agent were directly involved and perhaps responsible for the firing of Jerry Manuel this year.  Wally really wants the job and it sounds like he instituted a good ol' smear campaign.  Anyone else have any info on this?

There was no smear campaign needed, Mauel was going to be fired if the White Sox didn't make the playoffs.  Manuel was not a fan favorite and their underperforming down the stretch did him in.

Looks like Aldrete went to seattle to 1b coach and Pedrique is the D-Backs 3B coach now.  So a mere three from what I see...
