One of RBI's forgotten heroes, Bobby Grich, turned 57 on January 15th.  Forgot to make a thread, but it's probably better that he got one after the weekend anyway.  Same deal with Mitchell and Lindeman, lets discuss Grich in RBI, real life and start workingon his database page:

Pretty much empty like the other ones.  Feel free (anyone but me or fighton want to try?) to put at least the very basic stats in.

For me personally, it's been a LONG time since Grich has seen an atbat.  Ruppert goes in there every fkn time, regardless of the style of play.

Lets talk!

Grich NEVER gets an at-bat from me.  I get too excited to see Rupperto go yard.  I sat next to Grich at a DBacks game once.  He has a killer mustache.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

Sonofa Grich gets at least one AB with me.  I usually tend to save my pinch hitters for the 3-9 innings.

BDawk

My friends and I call him "One Pitch Gritch".
He has one pitch to make something happen. Foutl ball, strike or ball or out gets him subbed. A HR gets him one more pitch his next at bat.
A base hit may or may not get him another at-bat.

I now wipe my ass after every time I take a piss

Added Grich's stats to the db page, 819 power really is respectable.  Shit Boone at 831 ain't too shabby either...

Added bio info for Grich...this could be the beginning of more db editing to come.  Maybe.

Grich hit a homer against me playing a 1-player game the other day.  He's not a great player, but he's not completely worthless.  If he started on the bench, he'd be a solid sub.

Nice work mclane...  Don't forget to wikilink years, as I have a page for each year with "notable RBI events" - I'll take care of it for Grich.  Community work baby, that's how we roll...

probably top 5 in mustaches in the game.

was featured in "halo magazine" surfing a longboard on the cover.

was pictured in my high school health book turning a double-play and getting injured.

Always sub Ruppert Jone sin for Grich.  The Angels have an insane line up when you think about it.

Baines

It's been years for me.  Rupperto was born to hit #6 for Ca.

I've seen friends have a ridiculous amount of success with Grich though.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

TβG

If you have any doubts, try linking it and do a preview - if the link turns up red then there is no page for it.  At that point you can remove the link or create a new page for the link...

Just added a few more things to Grich's page, including his career statistics.  He actually had a pretty nice MLB career.  I copy/pasted Trammell's career's numbers and filled in on Grich's page - the first thing I noticed was that Grich's career OBP and SLG were both higher than Trammell's...

fknmclane

One thing I noticed on baseballreference.com was that Grich's top 10 similar hitters included one Chet Lemon.  I'll add it later.

Bill James considers Grich as one of the best all time 2b.
