OctoFranco

A dynamo he is.

Great find.  One of the very few Julio articles with direct quotes I've read that wasn't at least 60% about his religious beliefs.

Also, Link comes in handy.

Julio is good people.
When I was competing, I was on a similar eggwhite diet.
I was in the best shape of my life then.

The funny thing is, a lot of people believe Franco is actually 3 years older than he states..putting him around 49 years old.

Caveman

If he plays till he's 50 that will make him the oldest player in the history of the bigs.

Minnie Minoso appeared in two games when he was 57.

Ok. I checked baseball reference and the oldest player they had was Hoy Wilhelm, 49. They must only count guys who play in a certain amount of games or some shit.

57, holy shit.

Minoso doesn't really count, though.  He played in a couple of games as a publicity stunt and had a number of years between games.  What Julio is doing is truly remarkable as he has not stopped playing at a major league level pretty much ever except for his years in the Mexican League.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

Minoso and the White Sox tried to do this again in 1990 to allow him to have played in 6 different decades

Caveman

That would have been so great, shit, the guy earned himself a big league nock at 53.

This article makes me really like him.  I need more rest.

Wasn't Satchel Paige really old when he retired?  For some reason I thought that he pitched into his 50's.

He came back and pitched when he was very old, 59 I think, even though many thought he was really older than that.

EDIT:

3 scoreless innings at age 58 or 59, gave up only 1 hit and got 1 K.

Great article...  20 fkn eggwhites?  That man is dedicated to keeping the spirit of RBI.  Is there really any doubt that he'll be the last RBI'er?  I'm thinking he can make into 2010...
