Last night we added something to our Death rules, we came up with another social called the Spongebob.
This is when your fielder completely dives for a ball and lays on the ground completely flat and motioinless.

We got the idea from the cartoon my sister watches called Spongebob SquarePants.

One day she was complaiing when somehow the screen froze and the yellow spongebob guy was laying face down in the middle of a green pasture for about 25 minutes, it was the funniest thing I had ever seen, looked like a sniper got him.

So everytime it happens in the game we hoist our glasses and yell Spongebob!

That's  the beauty of the RBI Drinking Game, it is infinitely expandable....

a rule we like to use in the drinking game is that every time the slowest player on the team gets a triple, it is 6 drinks.  The slowest players are guys like Tony Armas, Matt Nokes and Gary Carter who run around the bases at a snail's pace. another rule we have is that whenever there is a back to back homer, you have to drink double. Back to Back to Back is triple and so on.  Joe got me on a back to back to back with Boston and went on to have a 10 run inning. Needless to say, I was ripping drunk by the time i got 10 run ruled.  Death rules.

if you are playing anyone with any experience... i dont see how anyone could get a triple let alone the likes of armas... buckner... and carter.  triples are like stolen bases... out of order!

They are very rare, but the occasional one may come about when you either get the super high wall flyball or the grounder right down the first base line.  Even with these, you usually need help by having the fielder screw up the play or throwing to the wrong base.  Or perhaps you ahve a runner on and they go for the runner at home...

either that or you are too drunk to hit the right direction on the controller.   even with guys like raines, coleman and other "A" speedsters it is tough to get a three-bagger.  it should be more drinks than a dinger cause they are so rare

In sober games, even the double is pretty rare...  When you break out the booze, doubles and triples are much more prevalent.  You get 5-6 games in a night and those flyballs get much tougher to catch and remembering how many outs is pretty much impossible...

remembering how many outs is REALLY DIFFICULT WHEN YOU ARE HAMMERED.  Sometimes we think there are 2 outs when its only the first batter of the inning.

Being drunk is pretty cool...

All this posting is getting me in the mood to play some RBI tonight.  Ahhh, I can't wait.

Let's break some records tonight, boys.  Or let's just add another brick to Potsie's Wall o' Shame...

Played some death over the weekend and introduced 4 of my buddies to the game, they loved it. We added in the 1 drink grounding out to the pitcher, and a social for hitting the foul ball in the corners when it deflects of someone's head in the stands. All the new players were given the straight pitch treatment, while I was given any kind of curves they wanted. It made the games somewhat tougher , but I still prevailed in all.

Keep up the good work Greg, spread the word...

I like the social for the head-bouncing foul ball...

We went all out and shrunk down the rules and applied them to the back of our controllers. Just have to turn it upside down, unless you have them memorized......i'm getting there.

i have a theory that bringing in subs is great at the plate yet it increases the odds that the sub will make an error in the field.  another theory i have come up with is that trying to throw the ball just as it gets to the player also raises the odds that your player will botch the play.

I'm not quite sure if your theory of a worse fielding percentage from a sub holds, but I am sure about the quick throw.  We here at the Dee-Nee house always make fun of the player who presses the a-button too quickly off a routine grounder, only to see the ball bounce off his face.  The bop is then usually followed up by denial...

that would be burnsky at our place  i have told him repeatedly but he continues to try and get rid of the ball as fast as he can.  this includes his outfielders after they catch the ball with no one on.  then he always insists on throwing the ball away after every put out  its tired already burnsky... we dont need to see 12 errors at the end of the game.

keep close tabs on your subs and you will notice what i am talking about.  i really think it affects your defense.

Good call on Burnzky, he loves the quick throw, and throwing the ball away, he loves getting as many errors as possible.

....it gets old burnzky but you'll grow out of it.

I will admit that i do make many errors by trying to throw the ball quick after if catch it althougth there is no one on base.  But having my first baseman throw the ball away after every put out just keeps me in the game.  Plus if you hit the wall with the ball after 3 outs, the music willl sound funny when you go to the scoreboard inbetween innings.
