The Empire Stuns The Poopydicks, 22-12

DEE-NEE CITY - The Empire used a 12-run seventh inning to send The Poopydicks to their first defeat of the season, a 22-12 defeat in a game played Friday afternoon at Tengen Stadium.

The Empire (4-2) rocked Poopydicks reliever Rick Reuschel for six home runs in the decisive seventh inning, with Don Mattingly homering twice in the inning. After the game, Poopydicks co-owner Mark McLane was not pleased.

"God damnit!," McLane said, "Reuschel is such a fucking cunt. Fucking that fucking whore right in his fucking ass! Is he fucking retarded?"

The game had the look of a pitcher's duel early, with The Poopydicks (5-1) clinging to a 1-0 lead in the middle of the fourth inning. But The Empire was able to touch up Doyle Alexander for five runs in the fourth inning to take a 5-1 lead. The lead see-sawed from there, with The Poopydicks taking a 10-7 lead in the seventh inning before The Empire's explosion.

Gantry

See my previous posts about my worries about our rusty relief core, the Poopydicks are definitely vulnerable when the franchise Alexander leaves the game.  Hopefully Big Daddy can learn from this...

And it looks like Brian Downing (0-5) finally came back to earth...

fknmclane

Piss poor game all the way around, but better this happens now and the team tastes a bitter loss before the playoffs.

The Empire can suck my hairy balls.

                                                        Post Game Press Conference

(breath, breath) Today in front of our loyal fans we showed the league what we are capable of when we play smart and heads up ball. The ability to destroy the Poopydicks is insignificant next to the power of the Force.
The Empire made significant strides since our narrow defeat last game. We used our practice time wisely, we worked on our weaknesses, polished up our strengths, and we are slowly but surely learning the different ways of the Force and the power of the Dark Side. We still have ways to go to play at the level that I demand, but I sense this is only the beginning stage of our ascent to greatness as a dynastic champion.

Q: Lord Darkside, can you describe the general mood of the Empire before the showdown with the undefeated Poopydicks. Were you guys intimidated to face one of the most explosive offenses in RBI Fantasy history?

A: (breath, breath) We practiced extremely hard all week, we studied the basic tendencies of the Poopydicks habits, and installed a game plan that we executed nearly to perfection. We were very confident that we would win against a very good Poopydicks team. And we are very confident that we can continue to win every game if we play our game and allow the Force come to us so we can in turn control it.

Q: Can you give us a little insight to your strategy to stopping the explosive Poopydicks offense?

A: (breath, breath) First and foremost, we wanted to pitch backwards to a very aggressive Poopydick lineup. We mixed speeds very well and our pitchers had control of their lineup by getting ahead in the count. We held their spark plugs Wilfong, Dawson, and Downing to a combined 3-15. We also were determined to shut down the nine hole. Their nine hole spot went 0-4. We knew that we were not going to completely shut down Andre Dawson, but holding him to a 2-5 performance with only 2 rbi is an accomplishment. We strongly felt that if we can throw some junk on first pitches that they would chase our pitches.

Q: What was the turning point of the game?

A:  Pedro Guerrero made a diving catch in the top 4th to save a couple of runs. We then scored 5 runs in the bottom half of the 4th, but it was evident that the Force was on our side. After last week's horrible performance in right filed, Pedro Guerrero worked his tail off in practice all week and made significant improvements defensively. He was told before the game that any errors on his part would result in death.

Q: Was the Empire irritated at all by all the trash talking by Mclane and Gantry?

A: No. The Dark Side of the Force comes from the hate, anger, fear, aggression, vengeance, and malice in all living things. So we hate all Fantasy teams and by nature we are irritated by any opposing team.

Q: Lenny Dykstra has gone 9-13 since replacing Jim Lindeman in centerfield and has seemed to be the spark plug, what prompted you to make the immediate change when you took over?

A: I sensed the Force was very strong in him. You don't know the power of the Dark Side.

Q: What is your response to how the media has crowned you as the team to beat despite your totalitarian style of management which has the players on edge a bit?

A: (Breath, breath.) Things are going perfectly according to our plans. Our goal is to execute perfectly on every pitch. Win every inning, win every game. If we can master the Force and play Empire style baseball, then we feel that our chances our good. I find your faith amusing.
I am strong with the Force. I am trained in the ways of the Force, and the Empire will display how the game is played with perseverance and discipline, or they choose death.  Nobody is safe here.
No further questions. May the Force bless our Empire

Pedro's catch on Brenly's 4th inning flyball in foul territory may be the best defensive play that I've seen in a watch game.

CommieHitlers Stop Hip Young Popes in Four Innings, 12-2

DEE-NEE CITY - New CommieHitlers starter Mike Witt gave up two runs over four innings of work to lead his team to a 12-2 victory over The Hip Young Popes in a Fantasy RBI League game on Thursday night that was stopped after four innings due to the mercy rule.

Dwight Evans and Alan Trammell each homered for The CommieHitlers (3-3) to pace a reconstructed line-up. Jose Canseco also went 2 for 3 while driving in three.

Dick Schofield's home run was the lone offensive spark for The Hip Young Popes (2-4).

That was a pretty weak recap.  I suspect a bit of bias on the part of the RBI media.

fightonusc

I suspect that the game was so boring that there really wasn't much to say.

I saw the Commie/Popes game.

The Hip Young Popes came out really flat. Mike Witt had his knuckle working and struck out some good hitters. The CommieHitlers did not exactly pound the ball. It was kind of boring watching a bunch of sally hits with no real drama in that game.

The OC/Coprophiliacs game was well played. The OC must have stranded at least a village of runners in scoring position.

Things are getting exciting as we approach mid season. I hope AttaRack crushes GDavis and the FTAS to beat the Nimrods. But the big one is the AttaRack/GDavis game. I would like to be alone in first place. It is where the Empire belongs.

The Empire has recently offered Pedro Guerrero for Darryl Strawberry and Wade Boggs for an infielder to be named later. Gerlost declined.

Just recently, The Empire has put a very enticing offer on the table for the struggling 2 time defending champions, The OC.

Pedro Guerrero for Reggie Jackson
Terry Pendleton for Harold Baines
Wally Joyner for Will Clark

Why stand still? Be creative, innovative. Think outside the box on the cutting edge.
Our generous offer to the OC is a win-win for both teams and we feel that the player swap will act as a catalyst for both teams in quest for a championship.

I'll give you Garner for Joyner

I am still in negotiations with the OC. If my proposed deal does not fall through, with the OC,  I shall come up with a package deal. I only trade in packages.
