Extra Innings Win is Too Little, Too Late For The CommieHitlers

DEE-NEE CITY - There was little joy in The CommieHitlers' dugout after the final out was recorded in their 13-12, 12-inning victory over The Coprophiliacs at Tengen Stadium. After a day of intense scoreboard watching, the results they cared about had already taken place - win by The Poopydicks and Attarack had sealed their fate to be on the outside looking when the Fantasy RBI Playoffs begin.

All three teams finished with identical 8-5 records. But the Poopydicks (3-1) and Attarack (2-2) all had better head-to-head records than The CommieHitlers (1-3), and this was the tiebreaker that spelled the end of The CommieHitlers' season.

"I mean, I'm disappointed, but I'm not crushed," said CommieHitlers GM Nacho after the game. "Now, if a bridge fell on me, then I'd be crushed. Or if a car plowed into me while I was mooning over a waitress at a coffee house. Or if I spilled my latte."

The CommieHitlers' bullpen was incredible, holding the Coprophiliacs (6-7) to just one run over the final eight  innings. George Brett was the surprise offensive star, belting his first three home runs of the season while driving in six.

The Poopydicks will take on The Empire in one Best-of-Three Playoff Semifinal, while Attarack squares off against GDavis in the other.

IN OTHER FANTASY RBI GAMES:

Poopydicks 15, Hip Young Popes 5 (5): Andre Dawson belted two home runs and drove in seven as The Poopydicks clinched the Doverbi Division regular season pennant with a thumping of the cellar-dwelling Hip Young Popes (4-9). "It's an honor to win a Division title named after someone as well-respected as that man," said team co-GM fknmclane after the game. "I will be fucked of Old Blacksmith tonight in his honor."

Attarack 14, Frank Tanana All-Stars 12: Attarack used 13 unanswered runs to rally from an early nine-run deficit, and then held on against The Frank Tanana All-Stars (4-9) to secure the final Doverbi Division playoff spot. Nolan Ryan picked up the save in a rare relief appearance by getting the final two outs.

GDavis 17, The OC 14: Lou Whitaker belted a walk-off grand slam in the bottom of the ninth off of The OC (5-8) closer Bob Stanley  to propel the Gantry Division-champions GDavis (10-3) to a dramatic victory to clinch home-field throughout the playoffs.

The Nimrods 24, The Empire 18: Davey Lopes homered and drove in five as The Nimrods (5-8) finished a disappointing season on a high note by sending The Empire (7-6) into the playoffs on a low note.
