That is very impressive with a guy with 124 speed.  I don't think I've ever seen that on a non-118 runner...

Re-Peat

You know you're having a good RBI session when you're subbing you're pinch hitting for your pitcher in the first inning before he gets a chance to throw.

Playing the computer gets boring unless you're trying to slaughter it as quickly as possible.

anyone ever notice that if you drop a deuce on someones windshield in sub-freezing temperatures, its pretty damn hard to get off once it freezes.

i just outran jorge (george) bell.  i was the cards with pendleton at third base and ran across the field on a groundball, beating him to first.

he hit the ball so hard it negated his speed.  936/124.  i actually thought he was faster than that, until i looked it up just now.  he's not so fast.  even compared to the top 5-6 power guys, he's like 5th.

still, a rare feat nonetheless.

perhaps not as rare as once thought.  i just beat bell to the bag again with decinces

I still never added Chuck Lisk to this ROM.  I decided since he created Heaven and Hell, I'd just make an entire ROM for Chuck Lisk himself.  160 little chubby Charlies runnign around.

I took two of three from Chubbs last night.  I don't remember all the specifics but the games were all decided by two runs or less.  We both played surprisingly well.  It was late, we were totally shitfaced, and hadn't played in a few months.

just executed a beautiful 5(tag)-4-3 TRIPLE PLAY with california against Am and canseco at the plate.  it was at a very important part of the ballgame, too.

Playing my buddy last night and I got Rueschel in vs AL.  The Whale is practically gassed but Ripken just got out so its all downhill for the rest of the line-up and i keep nibbling outside.  my buddy screams "take your fkn pitcher out already, take that fucker out!".

Apparently he hates me workin a tired arm for all its worth, then him having to adjust to a fresh arm throwing 90mph.  dude was serious and fairly pissed.

Kerfeld is the master of this...get 4-5 innings with him then flame throw with Ryan the rest of the game.

Re-Peat

I hit 85-90 mph gas far better than the 30-40mph lobs.

If you're playing me it's almost better to leave a spent Kerfeld in than to bring in Ryan.

I do everything in my power to get my starting pitcher through nine innings, especially if I'm getting the win.  It's an extra fuck you.

from my angels page-a-day calendar:

There have been two father-son teammates in baseball history: Ken Griffey Jr (1990-91 Mariners) and Tim Raines Sr. and Tim Raines Jr. (2001 Orioles).

is this true?

you think there are more?  I'd say it's safe to assume it's true(of course limiting it to MLB)

I bet it is.  I can only think of the Ripken clan but I doubt old man Ripken played when any of his kids played.

i mean, i can't remember both the raines family members playing in baltimore at the time and people making a big deal of it... i don't know.  i guess baseball-reference.com would tell us.

I seem to remember when Raines Jr came up for just a wee bit, it was kinda cool, but he quickly showed that he, ya know, was terrible at baseball, so it couldn't have been more than a few games they played together.

Attezz

And I never have been able to find anything online to confirm, but I swear there was a spring training game when both Ken Griffey's and their cousin/nephew made up the entire Mariner outfield.

Indeed, they played four games together at the end of the 2001 season, two of the games they were both in the starting lineup.
