Congrats Nomaaa.  Dee-Nee's new Sandwich King.

Do we currently have a "sent" box for PMs?  I don't think we do, and if I'm right, we could really use one.

when you send the message you have to select that you want a copy for your "sent" folder.  maybe we can get the default changed??

There was an tiny PC that is somewhat modern (6th i5 processor, 16GB of RAM) here not being used, so I have installed Windows Server 2022 as a Hyper-V host and setup a VM for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 9.0.   It boots, I can login and get on the interwebs.

So we have a computer and the base software ready for Dee-Nee 2.0 - things may actually happen before the end of the year.  Of course upgrading and moving the existing sites and especially forums are 100x the work of what I did today, but we have a start.

Figure I would do a running tab yall don't care about,as it keeps me engaged and my goal is to do a little work every day (or maybe 5 days a week) so the whole task isn't so daunting.

Step 1 is to migrate my Chicago Punk Wiki (http://punkdatabase.com) as it'll be WAY easier than the forums and let me build the groundwork in getting the web and database servers running.  Yesterday I got the actual wiki working on the current dee-nee server as it was down for fkn months, though it was a weird ssl certificate issue and it turns out I  just fucked up a DNS record.  10 seconds of work fixed months of downtime, christ guy.

The plan is to migrate the wiki to the new hardware running the same outdated version of Mediawiki that it's currently running.  It's outdated because the current server has a version of PHP that is too old for newer versions.  Plus they recommend migrating to a new server running the same version, then upgrade after migration.  So I was able to make a backup of the database and get it on the new server.  Also downloaded the base mediwiki software so that forced me to install tar & wget - I did a minimal install of Linux on the new server.  THE END for yesterday

Today's goal is just to get the web server (apache) running and displaying the default "welcome to apache" page from another computer.  Should be easy but involves likely some tweaking and screwing with the firewall.   If it's super quick, I'll do the same with getting the SQL server (mysql) running as well.

This is done, web and database server are running and the firewall lets them through.   I was bit over-optimistic with the "every day" thing, should have known better.

Next goal is to get the database for my Chicago Punk Wiki off the current server and into the new server database.  Starting that today, Friday a realistic goal to be done in case something comes up...

Chicagopunk database imported into the new server with the proper security for the db admin.   Next step is to copy over the wiki files and XML schema, goal for that will remain Friday.

guys, we can't jump the gun here.  before we have a purchase requisition, we're going to need a planned order.  Once that planned order gets through all the various approval levels, only THEN can we have a purchase req

Mother of fuck you're right!  I'll have a meeting to plan a future meeting to discuss the possibility of a planned order, stay tuned everyone...
