something i've been doing with the cards- put lindeman in the 3 spot.  clark protects him well.  like kent in MLB with bonds behind him, jimmy has been getting good swings.

Lindeman at the 3 spot sounds like a very good idea.  He is the most powerful pinch hitter and you should get him up with the most people on base...

Given that I hit 10x better with lefties, I go Blank Morris at #3.  Though he doesn't have the pop of Lindeman, he is less prone to the double-play and gets the lefty hits...

Good idea though...

the cardinals offense is depressing...  how did tom herr ever make an all star team?  he is awful.  ford and pena arent much better.
Strange things are afoot at the Circle K

I played a lot with STL this past weekend, and Oquendo was the man in the 3 hole.  I liked Lindeman instead of Ford.  What is everyone's problem with Tony Pena?  He is a decent 8th batter and has power compared to the rest of the team.  Also played with NY.  Santana had a great series (well, great for him) with a double in every game, plus an extra 2 singles.  I used to keep him in as a joke, but now he stays because he is producing.

Potsie rolled Stl last night and actually took a game from me (with Min in straight pitch) and he went for Oquendo at #2.  He has a deep hatred for Ozzie Smith, which I think stems from that walk-off grand slam he gave up to Lips a couple years back.  Anyway, I couldn't get Oquendo out and he did go yard.  He's a quality player...

where are the royals?

Harry Spilman's gotta be up there on the underrated category, he's automatic

I haven't had much success with Spilman.  I think Aldrete is their best ph.

Spilman is the goods, he is #1 on my Most Underrated list.  Check page 2 of the RBI Forum for that thread and be sure to add your own...

Most overrated:

1. Kirby Puckett - No contest
2. Tony Gwynn - Best BA, one of the worst All-Stars
3. Shane Corbett - 1.10 ERA?
4. Paul Molitor - A speed & contact but not worth putting in
5. Steve Lake - Worst player in RBI, automatically overrated

I agree completely with this list, this Gantry guy is smart.  What say you, RBI fans?

You can make a list just out of all-stars.  But I would say:

1.  Puckett
2.  Bass
3.  Baines
4.  Galarraga
5.  J Franco

This is an awesome topic.  I can't believe some of the names on these lists, though...for shame.

Here's my list, without a ton of thought involved 'cause I'm hungry:

GDavis (no offense IFF GDavis)
Puckett
KHernandez (SHUT THE FUCK UP ULT AND GANTRY!!!)
WMcGee
Baines

The dee nee tard mixed in with gantry looks a little bit like TBT

I don't see it for McGee...  He's certainly no champ but considering that lineup he ain't too shabby.  Do most prefer Pendleton or McGee?  They are essentially the same player in straight pitch...

I think Big Apple RBI Champ is overrated.  I don't think he's even the champ anymore.

I'm still the Big Apple RBI Champ as far as I know

Those non-GDavis New Yorkers didn't take all this scientific RBI data very well.  Their RBI world was shook upside down, and instead of acceptance they fought it with all the piss n' vinegar they had.  God bless 'em...

non-GDavis New Yorkers are the worst kind of New Yorkers

My first post, and here it goes:

5. Nolan Ryan - the Ryan Express in this game gives up more runs than Tony Peña if he was pitching.
4. Calvin Schiraldi - "Blown Save" gets an honorable mention because if you tried closing a game with him and he gives up a run or two. Look at him in WS games 6 and 7 for more info.
3. Steve Lake - Gantry's entry about him on the STL page should pretty much explain him.
2. Rafael Santana - runner up for worst batter. DAH NAH! is all I can say for him.
1. Tony Peña - WORST person in this game. He can't hit worth shit and he gets #1 for his "claim" of his Royals when he was managing they'd clinch the AL Central.

Honorable mention: Mookie Wilson. Why?     *   Made a gospel CD with his wife and three kids, I bet that is simply awesome. - does that explain anything?

Welcome Verlair, quality first post...  Just to make sure, you think Pena is the actual worst player in the game or he's the worst because of his (somewhat) lofty status?
