In his final 2 at bats, Sheridan does Sheridan.  Ground out to 3rd and then another weak grounder through the left side

3-4 vs Cardinals and 11-22 on the day with 2 home runs

edfan

Sheridan's  gonna Sheridan.  3 at bats vs SF through 4 innings so far.  3 groundouts

0-3 in the game; 11-25 on the day

edfan

Prior to Sheridan's 4th and final at bat, Darrell Evans homers (again).  Mart Nokes makes it back to back homers.  Pat Sheridan flies out to right to end the inning.  1st hitless game of the day

0-4 vs SF; 11-26 on the day

edfan

1st at bat vs AM = another groundout

0-1 and 11-27.  2nd half of this season has been a total struggle for PS.

edfan

Sheridan flies out to right in his 2nd at bat

0-2 and 11-28 overall.  Sheridan hasn't had a hit in quite a few at bats

edfan

Sheridan finally pulls himself together and manages a single through the right side vs AM in his 3rd at bat

1-3 vs AM; 12-29 on the day

edfan

Screw Pat Sheridan.  Another fly out.

12-30 on the day

edfan

Sheridan is the worst.  Had a chance to come through in a tight spot.  Up 1 with 2 out and 2 on.  Chance to get some insurance.  Fly out to right.  THE. WORST.

1-5 in the game.  12-31 on the day.  How do you Pat Sheridan apologists sleep at night?  Your entire life is a lie

edfan

Last game, first at bat.  2 our and men on 2nd and 3rd.  Sheridan grounds out to end the inning.  What a pile of suck

0-1 vs NA and 12-32 overall.

edfan

Sheridan gets a weak hit to the right side to start the 3rd.  Woo hoo.  Other than his 2 home runs, almost all of his hits have been 'Pettis-like'

1-2 vs NA; 13-33 overall

edfan

Sheridan must have sensed my sarcasm.  He comes up in the top of the 5th and smacks a solo shot to right.  3rd homer of the day

2-3 vs NA; 14-34 overall

edfan

Pat Sheridan hit the ball hard again.  Wound up with a double to the gap in right

3-4 vs NA; 15-35 on the day.  Will likely get 1 more AB

edfan

Barring a major meltdown, PS has now had his final at bat.  Appropriately enough, he popped out to short to end his run

3-5 vs NA; 15-36 overall.  3 home runs.  An overall mediocre performance.  There were some bright spots, but they were few and far between

edfan! Great to see you again! Awesome with these updates! Way to keep the NES RBI alive!

edfan should try this same experiment with Spilman since he also comes off the bench and has very similar speed/contact ratings.  Does Sheridan suck, or is 831 PWR with a 24-28 contact just not a good profile for an RBI hitter?  We need a control group here.

I will run the Spilman Experiment next weekend if time allows.

I might also run a Wilfong Experiment too
