there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

RBIs ARE SITUATIONAL! Not a good indicator of hitting ability.  I knew this was rigged!

Gantry

If you are grounding out to the pitcher, it's not the RBI player that is to be blamed.

Well played.  However, I hit multiple home runs from every other spot in the order except for Sheridan en route to winning each game by the 10 run rule.  How do you explain that?  Even Nokes had 2 homers.  Whitaker had at least 2 as well.  Madlock had 2 in limited at bats.  Sheridan is clearly inferior.  He had 9 full games to prove his worth.  His worth has been proven, indeed.  He's worth a Dave Bergman rookie card with a big crease down the middle and Archi Cianfrocco's signature on said card

Gantry

I may have to duplicate your games and see what I come up with.  Probably don't have the dedication though, how many total games did you play?

edfan

9 total games.  1 vs each team.  I did the first one during my daughters appointment and then finished off the last 5 games after I got home

edfan

I did the 1st 8 games with Sheridan in the 5 spot for Herndon and the last game with Sheridan in the 4 and Madlock in the 5.  I was a huge Nokes guy as a kid so I never tried that before.  It may be my new strategy

edfan

Bunpst for documentation and data in support of Pat Sheridan's mediocrity

edfan

I may fire up the NES today and give Sheridan a shot at redemption from or confirmation of his suckery

Trammell triples to start the game.  Gibson scores him on his own triple.  Evans clears it with a 2 run homer.  Nokes rips one off the wall but is so slow that he only manages a single.  PS with his 1st at bat.  Nobody out and Nokes on 1st.

Sheridan flies out to left for the first out of the inning

edfan

Lemon drives in Nokes on a double.  Whitaker clears the bases on a home run.  6-0 in the top of the 1st.  Still just 1 out.  Guess who?

edfan

Pitcher popped out and Gibson flies out to left to end the 1st inning.

PS = 0-1

I was held scoreless in the 2nd.  Evans leads off with a double.  Nokes gets out.  Sheridan gets his 2nd at bat.  He makes solid contact, but right at the 2nd baseman (Grich).  He hit is hard enough + Darrell Evans is so slow that he got doubled off of second prior to reaching the base.  Sheridan Sheridan's his first inning

PS = 0-2

Meanwhile O Doyle Rules is dominating on the mound.  7 batters faced.  1 hit, no runs, 5 strikeouts.  Struck out the side in the 2nd on 9 pitches

Congrats Nomaaa.  Dee-Nee's new Sandwich King.

O Doyle Rules helps himself with a 3 run homer (inside the park of course).  Gibson and Evans get on which leaves 2 out and 2 on for Nokes.  I sub in Madlock for Matty Fatty and he unloads a 3 run bomb.  This will give Sheridan his 3rd and probably final at bat of the game
