Nothing worse than  quick 8 and 9 hole outs followed by an onslaught of top of the order hits and bombs. Happens once a game at least

Canada Shooties (3-0) at Tropicana Stairwcaises (0-3)

On a beautiful sunny day in Las Vegas at Tropicana Stadium, the visiting Canada Shooties used their bullpen to hold on for a 17-14 victory and thus remain undefeated and in first place in the Potsie Division.

DJhnsn led the Canadians by blasting a pair of towering shots and driving in 7 runners. E.Davis and E.Burks both went 5-6 and scored 5 runs. Hrbek chipped in with 4 RBI off 3 hits including a HR while Ripken had a HR and 2 RBI from the crucial 8-hole, but he was thrown out at home twice while trying to advance. The Shooties bullpen was solid under the bright Nevada sun as Sbrhgn and V.Blue only allowed 3 hits and 1 run to silence Tropicana. The Shooties win resembled a cat keeping a dying mouse alive just long enough to have hope before the final kill. Despite the close score, the Shooties were in control all game.

Tropicana did threaten in the bottom of the 4th inning down 8-6 with runners at 2nd and 3rd base and 1 out. DStrwby got a good hold of a Gooden fastball and launched it to the right-center gap off the wall, but Foster and Hack Wilson were caught looking into the Hooters section of the stands and mistakenly didn't advance. Simultaneously, DStrwby never looked in front of him on the base path and unexpectedly found himself unable to reach second base with Hack Wilson standing on 2B admiring attractive Hooter section. DStrwby frantically made a dash back to 1B, but he was ran down for the demoralizing out. Cepeda came up next and lined out to the LF and just like that, the Tropicana rally, threat, and momentum was extinguished.

For Tropicana, Hack Wilson finally showed his star power and hit a pair of homeruns while Mitchl, Foster, and Strwby each had 4 hits. However, the offense was stalled 4 different times in which three times resulted as putouts and home plate. Tropicana's lack of discipline and awareness on the basepaths combined with continued sloppy defense continues to be a problem and their winless record reflects that.

Tropicana (0-3) will visit Ultimate's UHF CH. 62 (2-1) in an interdivisional game while the Canada Shooties (3-0) will host the Empire (2-1) in a highly anticipate matchup and first place game in the Potsie Division. It has been reported that Canada's own Loverboy popular 80s band will perform the Canadian National Anthem and play snippets of "Turn Me Loose" every time a hitter comes up to plate.

High Fives (1-2) at UHF Ch. 62 (2-1)

The High Fives exploded out to a 12-4 lead after 4 innings, but UHF then went on a 14-4 run the rest of the way and won with a 2-run walkoff homer by Kirk Gibson who was nursing a hamstring injury.

The UHF win puts Ultimate's team in sole possession of second place in the Sperling Division, one game behind Ye Old Stylers.

UHF was led by outstanding bullpen pitching. W.Ford threw 3 strong innings in long relief and gave up only 1 run off 3 hits. Gullet then only gave up 1 hit, struck out J.Clark, and surrendered 0 runs. The closer, Big Daddy Reuschl, avoided a big inning as he gave up the lead on 3 runs off 3 hits and a HR to Canseco which gave the High Fives a slim 16-15 lead heading into the bottom of the 9th.

Rollie Fingers recorded only 1 out (RJacksn K) in his failed save attempt. Gehrig led off with a 2B, Reggie K'd, then Mathws knocked in Gehrig on a single before setting up Kirk Gibson's dramatic walkoff HR - shades of his GW HR off Eckersly in the 88 WS. Gibson hobbled up to the plate, took a pitch, then launched a majestic shot into the Chicago sunset as Frisbee Stadium went into a frenzy with Obama in attendance. On a tender hamstring, Gibson went 5-6 with 2 homeruns and knocked in 4 baserunners. Another game hero who has somewhat turned into a folk hero, is Grich. Grich smacked 4 hits, laced two doubles, and hit a 3-run shot in the bottom of the 8th inning to give UHF a 15-13 lead. Grich, who has a 819 power rating now has 3 homeruns on the year and pushed his average up to just over .600!

For the High Fives who pitched and hit just well enough for a win, they hit into 4 double plays and had 3 runs result from 2 errors. Those 6 events proved to be perhaps the deciding factor, especially considering how their bats went cold after the 3rd inning. Cardinals Rule was once again absent at the game in the press box and has yet to be seen anywhere at the stadium or in the FRBI media. Rumors of him having the Corona Virus cannot be confirmed.

For week 4, UHF (2-1) will travel to 0-3 Tropicana, and the High Fives will travel to Purple Rain Stadium to take on the undefeated Ye Old Stylers (3-0).

You know who was a bad Ram? Shaun Hill. In nine games in 2014, he had an 8-7 TD-to-INT ratio, gaining only 7.2 YPA. That doesn't cut it in the NFL.

Gantry

That sounds like a really good version of Mitch Trubisky :'(

Darky

Todd Gurely pic - a good working ram that turned bad and ineffective!

Yeah though, fingers crossed here that you get the ram fixed (not Gurely) so we can play some ball! I would offer for you to send me the rom so I can run week 4 if we are facing a long strike here, but then Twitch scared the shit out of me. Have no clue on how to run that.

Just say the word and my lineup will be in. The Empire has been practicing and running scrimmage games in Iceland to prepare for the frigid Canadian conditions.
