Why has this one never come up?

BeefMaster

Gotta go with the small-ball-playing Cards.  Vince Coleman isn't the best player, but he's one of my favorites.  I also once had a 3-homer game with Tommy Herr.

I knew someone would vote for SL.  That speed is undeniable, and the damning power of Herr has always cursed me.  Jack Clark is also a bastard.

Tudor's pitching is wicked.

JoeDirt

I gotta say Boston, just for the fact that they have sheer power to burn and for the fact that they 1) have a lefty in the rotation and 2) their righty is as good as it gets.

(*note: lefties are far more valuable in my cheating way of pitching)

The dee nee tard mixed in with gantry looks a little bit like TBT

This should be the definitive thread on this subject, so we can bump it up for the new members periodically...

We know my answer - California.  Meat & Potatoes, nothing finer...

Small ball.  All day every day.  Johnny Tudor rules all.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

the dude either has some high float or a mess between the cheeks.

my favorite team has always been the angels with the cards a close second.... i grew up an angels fan so thats why having them in RBI is the greatest gift the RBI gods could have bestowed on a young socal baseball fan.

I'm a Dt fan and a Bud man. The Natural, A-Tram, Fatty, Sweet Lou, Kimmy Gibbler...I can't get away from these guys, even though they are SO hit-or-miss...Playing against someone, Bo scares me more than any other team.

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Gotta be the Tigers.  In fact, I've started following the Tigers in real life because of RBI. I'll never love them as much as the Cubs but at least it's another team to expect a losing seson from.
As Alan Trammel Goes.....So Go the Tigers.

BeefMaster

I'm surprised at all the love for the BoSox in this poll.  I've never cared much for them, for the same reason I like the Cards - the Sox have almost no speed whatsoever.

I know what you mean about the fun of the Cards, but RBI is basically a power man's game--what, with the park so damn small and all...

DT
Brookens is my hero

malnuboy

Boston with SL second, Boston has Armas on the bench with 43 jacks, and Burks(20 HR) and Henderson(15HR) on the bench as well. You can't walk away from that.
What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

dvldog

Burks
Henderson
Boggs
J.Rice
Baylor
DwEvans
Gedman
Armas

Clemens
Hurst

There are no holes in this lineup when Gedman decides to come to the park.  The weakest part is Boggs, with his single-digit contact rating.

Pitching isn't stellar, but is pretty good.  Clemens is great, and Hurst is a good LHP.

malnuboy

Shiraldi and Stanley are almost autonatic homeruns to the first batter faced, they fucking suck! Boston is still the best team.

dvldog

you should never use either of them

I'm a SL fan, because of my love of bunt hits and speed

Baines

I went with SF just because I didn't think they'd get any love from anybody else and because of my 8 consecutive HR streak a while back.  But I really don't think I could call anybody my clear cut favorite.  SL is also close as well as the obvious power teams like BO, DT, and CA.

The only teams i don't like are HO and MN.  Then again, every time you play with the 'Stros they're shitty but you have the ability to humiliate your opponent with a win.

But fuck MN though.  They have an uncanny ability to not show up in clutch games/situations.

Baines may have hit a homer with Baines, yelled Baines and immediately changed into a Baines jersey.

You know who's the best? Baines...

BeefMaster

I always liked the Giants, too - they had a decent balance of speed and power, although not too much on the power side.  I also agree with you somewhat on MN, even though I'm a Twins fan - they're completely non-clutch.  Also, my RBI buddy in elementary school loved to use them when we'd reenact the '87 Series, so I consider them kind of my arch-rival.
