Gantry

Atezz, Bandur and Beales is a tough group in the bottom four... Probably all depends on how good the dee-nee'ers really are. Are we as shitty as we think we are?

JoeDirt

Yeah but you're still an asshole, right?  ::)

looks like fighton used bracket maker......i believe they can do something like that to rearrange shit for the losers, so if there was a rematch it wouldnt be till quite a ways down the road.

Actually, I just filled in the blanks from the blank bracket on the tournament Web site. You'll have to ask Joe how he set it up...

How would there be a rematch in early rounds of the losers bracket?  The teams that the losers play will be in the winner's bracket...

This is my worst fucking nightmare.  I got the dreaded 10 AM game.  Any chance I had at all of doing well in this tourney has taken a major, major hit.

EDIT Gantry, can you make The Final Countdown a sticky for me? Also, the tournament thread is no longer sticky.

I just wiped my ass then smelled the toilet paper.  What's wrong with me?

What do you got there, the 4 volt? I did you a favor.

I'm officially fucked!

How so?  Nobody knows anything about your opponent...

I just assume that I don't stand a chance against anyone the doesn't have "a.k.a. (insert Dee-Nee user name)" after their name.

Basically he didn't get matched against Gantry

Malnu, just wear the mask when you play, I think that will give you the intimidation factor.

My dream matchups would be to, obviously, win my first two rounds, beat Dirt in the Semi's, and then play for the championship against GDavis (no particular reason, just like what I hear about/from him)

Either way, I'm so fucking happy I got into the bottom four (for time reasons)...and if I win my first round, I plan on spending the next maybe 6 hours drinking heavily, I'm a not person, and plan on getting piss drunk each night after the games.

fightonusc

Hey Joe, tell the non Dee-Nee regulars that they need to join and get on this thread so they can be part of the smack talking (and we can learn just who the hell they are)...

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

Unless CurtFlood can pull off the major upset in Game 2, I would like to point out that at 11 a.m., the first losers' bracket game would be between two Dee-Neers (the loser of the game between me and fknmclane) and CurtFlood. Which means that we may likely have at least one Dee-Neer gone and ready to engage in some heavy drinking before noon on Saturday.

Sorry dude, but this automatically disqualifies you from the tournament.  We're allowing people only.

Any takers on this suddenly open slot?

Speciesist.  Are you really saying that you wouldn't let Chewbacca play if he were to have paid the entry fee and shown up?

Wow, I really have no fucking clue what I was trying to say there, I've gotta stop doing work and writing posts at the same time...

All I know is, you'd better get out of round 1 Dirt, because I'll be waiting for you (or, as it appears, you'll be waiting for me)

I really hope that, since I have the latest game of the day, most everyone is already gone by the time it begins.

Question: Which "half" of the bracket is more difficult, the top or the bottom?

The bottom bracket is clearly more difficult with me, Cordiano, Bandur, and Attezabol.  I really think the two brackets are pretty fairly matched though.  I don't think the lottery could have gone much better (with the exception of Bandur kicking my ass second round).

No shit, for some reason it didn't hit me that you were Beales, well, fucking hell...This sucks...

Let me know if you'd want to get a practice game or two in online, just so we can get a semi-feel for each other, since I don't know how you play and you don't really know how I play.

Otherwise it looks like I'll be facing a Conzleman/Bandur game...Wow, our quarter is really tough...Fuck.

fightonusc

That bottom four is definitely the toughest. I'm not happy about potential match-ups with Riley and Foster in Rounds 2 and 3, but overall, I can't complain too much. I defintely have a chance toi get a couple of wins in and at least play into Sunday, which is my No. 1 goal ahead of anything else. (Have to be playing on Sunday in order to win.)

Quick clarification of the rules, say I win the first round in three games using Detroit, Boston and St. Louis...Can I go the next round and still use St. Louis, Boston and Detroit? Or are those teams out until I use all available teams?

I honestly expect our series to be one of the better first round series.  I'm certainly looking forward to it.

As for practicing beforehand, I don't play online.  I'd be willing to play one (and only one) game the night before the tournament if you'll be around.

And yes, we have the toughest section of the tournament.

Eligible teams reset after each series.  So yes, you can use the same teams in the second round (assuming they haven't been chosen by your opponent).
