this may be one of the most anticipated events for me in a long time, considering I havn't taken a "real" vacation in almost two years, I am fucking stoked.

OK folks, I have some really bad news....

My grandma, Helen Zettler, passed away this evening.  She was 91 and in very poor health.  Things turned for the worse a couple weeks ago and she's been sick for years, so it's been expected.  So while it is obviously terrible to lose the family matriarch, we've had plenty of time to cope with grandma's passing...

The funeral services will most likely be on Saturday, meaning I will miss the RBI tournament.  The Zettlers are Ohio folk though and the funeral is in Canton, only a couple hours away.  So I will still be there on Friday afternoon/evening and very early Saturday.  After that it is too early to tell, but I should make appearance either very late Saturday and/or early Sunday...

The biggest void at this point is my tourney seat.  I have already paid my money, so I'm hoping someone in attendance will take my spot.  If JoeD has an available alternate, then they get first dibs.  Otherwise, it's whoever wants it, the entry fee is on me.  Don't let the tourney get affected, someone pick up the slack and kick Lipitz's straight-pitch ass....

More info as it comes, but I still plan to paint the town red on Friday night at the very least.  By tomorrow pm, I should know all the details.  There is a chance the funeral is on Monday, but we should start looking for a tourney replacement...

Looks like the funeral is at noon on Saturday.  So I'll leave Columbus around 8ish, and will definitely miss the tourney.  I am still not sure about Saturday night, that one will have to be by ear.  Probably not though, but I'll definitely stop back for a time on Sunday...

That really sucks...sorry to hear, pal.  No matter what the circumstances are, it's never easy/fun to have to deal with.

I do not have a replacement as of yet--but will do my best to find one.  If I cannot, we might need to explore some options...

If anybody does want Gantry's spot, please let me know asap.

Nah, seriously...Baines, eh?!  My next matchup in the online straight-pitch league was gonna be Baines, but then I got busy with my wedding and all.  That matchup would somewhat be fitting, if Baines wants it.
