For me, its tough, but Id probably have to go with diving, jumping. The complexity of RBI Baseball would probably change dramatically if you could do something about those ground balls that seem to stroll past your players in the field.

Next I would probably love some sort of season mode. Maybe even track some stats for players.

Then customizing/changing the distance of the fences. I think the game would be a bit more interesting if we could back the fences up to somewhere between where they are, and where the stadium itself ends. Maybe even change the look of the outfield stands, add an entry tunnel or two. As it is, it resembles a mob of toothless europeans at a "Futball" match.

The last one is a stretch, but maybe im enjoying my tailored stadiums from WSB 2k3 too much.

Food for thought, food for thought.........

Beanball

So many things to add.
More teams, like the later RBIs.
Pregame lineup changes.  I like to give crappy players a chance.
Different ballparks.
Fights.  I wish I had the brains and resources to edit RBI so that after a beanball, there would be a very slight chance that you could have a fight.

I'd settle for meshing in the fight scene from Ice Hockey, just because it would look so idiotic.

Gantry

Some good ideas there, so I added some more entries to the poll.  I personally would like a tougher CPU, the biggest problem with RBI is that it's no fun to play by yourself...

Unless you suck at it, like me.

I agree with Ganrty on this.  I typically have to play a 1 player game, because I don't have any RBI freaks living near.  Only when my brother comes into town do I get to play a two player game, so I'd appreciate a tough game against the computer.  I did enjoy the new roms posted.  I played a game where I was the Dodgers and the computer was the Yankees.  They gave me a challenge, because they homer every other at bat!  Good job on those ROMs by the way!

sucka free

I definitly choose season mode.  Season mode can give you free agency, SEASON STATS (how godly would this be), playoffs, worldseries, trading, injuries, ect.  I never play the CPU in any sports game.   The CPU is always bad in every game.  Playing against your friends is the only reason to buy a sports game.

Gantry

Season stats would be excellent, kind of forgot about that.  If there is a reason to play the CPU, it would be to get the best stats you can...

I see a lot of talk about weak computer opponents, and no conquering of my Tampa Bay Challenge!?!

I posted my experiences on the RBI 2k3 forum. Check it out

Tougher CPU hands down.  A season mode would be tight, although there already is a season-like mode when you play the computer.  The only thing that sucks about it is that it's too easy.  Hence, throw down my vote for a more challenging 1 player mode.  I wouldn't dare touch any other aspect of the game.

Ok let me set the record straight, there can be no change to the mechanics of gameplay or we will no longer have RBI.  Anyone who has played the blasphemy called RBI 2 or 3 should know what I'm talking about.  I fully agree with the tougher AI but since I only had one vote had to go with season mode.  I can still have fun pounding the computer if it will keep the stats for me!

jrg

doverbi and some of the other cocksuckers on here are fucking sickening, nothing but moronice whining anout how much they hate rbi 2 and 3, which were much better that the fatass slow-pitch softball of the original rbi. rbi was a great game....15 fucking years ago.

but why should i expect people on this message board to be any less obnoxious than any other message board on the internet. way too much extra time...that's all of our problems. that's the only reason i even wasted my time making updated rosters for another game i never even play anymore.  the novelty has worn of......time for me to enter the insane aslyum

Season mode.  Make it like Super Tecmo Bowl.  Not insanely good, just the first of its kind.

It puts the lotion on its skin!

jrg, I find it amusing that you complain about us being obnoxious and moronic, yet at the same time you post an obnoxious, semi-literate stream of angry filth.  I'm one of the ones here who likes RBI 2 and 3, and your post pissed me off.

And for the record, some of us like slow-pitch softball.

I'd say try to play with your feet.  But I tried that and I was still able to whip the computer.

With a regular controller?  Wow.  I could see doing that with the NES Advantage, maybe, but a regular controller is really impressive.  Then again, I've never tried it, so it could be easier than I think.

Yeah, it was a regular controller.  First game or two was tough, but once you get used to it it's pretty easy.

Speaking of doing things with your feet.  An old friend of mine was a huge pothead.  Huge.  Probably still is, I don't know.  Anyway, he had this gigantic five foot bong.  Beautiful piece.  The problem with a five-footer is that someone needs to light it for you. It also makes you legally retarded for about 6 hours but anyway, he taught himself how to hold a lighter in his foot, between his big toe and the next two.  He could light it up, burn the whole bowl, pull the stem and then clear the chamber.  Imagine if he actually put his mind to something besides the pot.
