...and tags out Laudner before he can reach Firstbase!  What an amazing display of facial hair and fleet footedness.

yes that's right, for the first time in my RBI career i pulled off the amazing Thirdbaseman unassisted put-out.

has anyone ever done this before?  I try it all the time, but this was my first success.  i think sometimes i tend to chicken out and throw it to first just to make sure i get the out, but i recommend that if you're trying to pull off this amazing stunt that you let the thirdbaseman run all the way to the bag to get the best chance at the out.

Tony Armas is the most common victim, but with a little luck a few other slower guys can have it done to them too....

I thikn there is something in the glossary about this...

I thought this stunt was just a myth (along with throwing a guy out from left field at first base).

Good job ball game teddy!!

I said it once and I'll say it again - stock is smart

This has been done by OctoFranco on several occasions. There's an unwritten house rule that if this is tried, and you fail, you are given the out at first.

That is impossible unless you have some really slow guy on a ROM

at least brookens got a little more publicity.  that guy was pure hustle with his mustache shuffle.

Its simple if you play the Jap version

you can actually tag from the outfield in that version

if the mechanics were the same as the original rbi, it would be a great game

So the players have really long arms in the Jap version?

Throwing out a runner at first from left field is something Ive never seen.  However I have run from third to first and tagged Tony Armas out 3 times.  Twice in one game against GoReds.

no, they can actually run to the base faster, than they throw it.  its pretty insane

I've tried hundreds of times but I still await this momentous play.  I can't wait until it happens.  I'll laugh until I cry andthen Chubbs will kick me in the balls.  And then we'll drink more beer and play more RBI.

It is a glorious play, done about 6-8 times by the Big4 Dee-Nee members...

I can't say that I've ever accomplished this with the third baseman, but I will say that fielding a grounder and running to first is one of my favorite things to do when playing 2 player.  It's such a crushing blow to your opponent, and you can see the false hope that it brings to their face when they think that the batter might win the race.  It's hilarious every time

Attezzobal

Maybe it's because I'm slightly retarded, but one thing that always makes me giggle is after a groundball to the second baseman or pitcher, Octo always runs to first base and than chucks it as hard as he can at the first basemen when it's half a foot away.

This is a good rule, but it also encourages showboating.  I'm torn on which side I fall.

I don't know if I have ever done this, but it is now at the top of my agenda.

Anyone who does this against Vince Coleman gets free anal.

I was afraid of that in Columbutt, the way we play, we do many things that border on 'showboating' such as whenever there is a ground ball up the middle, we always 'turn two' even with nobody on base. It's weird, sometimes we play games as if we're the Harlem Globetrotters of RBI. And than when we play others we spend the first three innings explaining that we're not being cocky it's just the way we know how to play.

What say everyone about showboating?

Me either.  As long as he's not being an ass about it, I don't mind a little showboating.

I sometimes do this, too.  I have no idea why.

I almost always do this.  I thought I was the only one.

although i highly encourage showboating, i do not agree with the free out.
if you are going to showboat, you are taking the risk that it might be duffed, making it showboating in the first place. giving the free out takes away from the humor showboating creates.
