I like hearing all the stories about these past R.BI. Heroes like Viola, I never realized it, but I met rbi legend Rick Burlson a couple years ago, I didn't tell him that he rarely played for me though. But still kind of funny, I asked one of my good friends last night about Randy Bush, my friend played at University of New Orleans, he said, "yeah he was my coach." He said coach never schueduled practice before 3:00, cause the coach knew they went out late at night partying.  Now thats an R.B.I. Hero!!!

I've been hearing a lot from gantry about Harry Speilman, i gave him a go today in the 1 slot, first pitch opposite field jack, then another homer deep to right later, 3 for 3. Good Lord!

One of my friends has been a part of both Tom Brunansky's and Kent Hrbek's weddings.  I am not Catholic, but I guess he is the kid that dresses up in the robe and stands up there during the ceremony for some reason.  His cousin played for the Twins back then, but I can't remember his name right now; I'll try to find out who it is.  Actually, he is decent friends with Bruno.  My friend and Bruno have drank a few brews together in the past and has seen him in the last year.

Oh yeah, he also said that a lot of the Twins were at these weddings and he met them all.  This was in '88 also.  I would've invited them to play some RBI...

Great stories guys...

Jason is starting to ride the Spilman train, got 3 dingers with him last game in a one run victory....

Here's some FYI about an RBI legend.  Reggie Jackson has come out of the shadows to buy a Nascar team, the #92 of Andy Houston.  Being an RBI legend does pay off.

Just think of all the money he has raked in speaking at those RBI conventions...

A remember awhile back about Jackson owning a computer hardware company, wonder if he still does that in addition to his racecar thing...

I must say that harry Spilman is very good.  Just as Gantry said back-to-back-to-back jacks in 1 game and 2 homers in the next.  He's good.  I'm gonna try to get better with S.F. in the near future.  Boston's inconsistency pisses me off.  Also I must say that Aldrete is also very good off the bench and so is Youngblood.  Maybe the best bench squad in RBI.

Also I must say that Sullivan is the best 1 AB pinch hitter hands down.  He's not good enough to play a whole game with but he makes the most out of his bottom of the 7th AB.  He's won 2 games for me with 3 run homers and has gotten countles hits in crucial situations.  Sullivan is definately a legend!

I agree with Jason about Sullivan working the magic once and only once...

I feel Youngblood is the same way too - he has a tremendouly high 1st AB homer percentage, but then does nothing after that.  If you can find that magical 3rd sub (because Uribe, Brenly, and Thompson all blow), then SF can compete.  I have yet to find that magic mixture though, Youngblood and Speier just aren't consistent full-timers for me..

For the record, Bill Schroeder, Nintendo - American League All-star Catcher has served as the Brewers color man on tv broadcasts the past few years.

My friend from Detroit told me a funny story about Kirk Gibson.  Gibby allegedly does the color commentary for the Tigers on the radio.  Well, one day he was making fun of Scott Mitchell, the Lions' QB at the time, on the air.  Mitchell got wind of this and said he wanted to kick Gibby's ass!  Gibson heard of this, and proceeded to laugh on the air at Mitchell saying "Can you imagine Scott Mitchell trying to kick MY ass!?!  Yeah right!"  When will NFL players realize that it is impossible to kick ass on RBI legends?

i'd have to argue with sf having the best bench corps... i think that detroit has the best benchwarmers...   as for the team with the weakest bench... that would have to be st. louis.  if it  weren't for lindeman... they'd never get into the game which is a shame cause if they were better they could get some playing time for the likes of tommy herr, ford and jala(pena).

Yeah, there's no way SF has the best bench - cali, boston and detroit are all way better....

St Louis has an absolutely brutal bench.  They are the worst team when you play Dill's "sub your opponents players" game.  You take Jack Clark off that team and they are Absolute ass...

st louis is ass with clark so i could only imagine the degree of impotance if i tried dill's style.  there is just something about lake, oquindo and morris that sreams futility.

News on an RBI legend.
Looks like Doc Gooden was arrested today for drunk driving.
Gotta love watching RBI legends lives going down the shitter. At least he was just drunk and not on coke this time.

You can always count on the Doctor to fuck things up....

I remember my dad buying about 50 of his rookie cards for a couple bucks apiece, still has them.  Were worth $25-30 at one point, now they are less than a dollar...

What a waste of talent!
Cy Young his rookie year, and then just went in the tank.
On a completely different topic from RBI Baseball, HOW BOUT THE BELARUS HOCKEY TEAM!!! UPSET CITY BABY!!! I bet you there are gonna be some angry swedes tonight.

I think i saw on ESPN that they are doing a special on Doc and Straw, showing how two rbi legends who could have been future hall of famers screwed up big time and are off selling their bodies on the side of the road for cocaine, or something like that.  Too bad about half the mets in the 80's were a bunch of crackheads.

there was a book that came out about that 86 mets team regarding a few players' habits.   these include kevin mitchell beheading cats and kevin elster having sex with other players' wives in the clubhouse during games.  too bad kevin didnt make it to rbi fame. he could have danny heep's spot.
