i know that if a homer does occur with the pitcher, it will be of the variety that bban just described.  those phantom homers that go through the wall.    i like the cd idea...

Welcome bban, you sport a solid resume...

Every person who wrote about the pitcher home has described just like you, though this is first I've heard of Guillermo going yard.  Do you remember who was pitching?

We've just started up a set of death tonight, I'll be sure to fire some inside heaters to Lips, assuming he beats Potsie...

relievers might have more of a chance than the guy who starts the game... maybe that has something to do with it.

thanks sir....it is an honor...

i believe at the time i was playing against the AL allstar team and tom henke was on the mound....or as we called him "henke-panky"...he can bring the heat, but has no action...even more amazing that willie "the next donnie moore" hit his homer during an "any pitch" match....it was by far the most amazing thing ive seen on the game....that is except for the time just two days ago when, once again in real pitching game play, todd worrell of the angels let up 6, count them, 6 consecutive homeruns to the detroit tigers...starting with Kirk Gibsons 3 run shot and ending with tom brookens, my personal hero and style mentor....that was probably my shining moment, for my roomate t was just getting back into it and the wheels fell off....i nominate, however this may not be prevelant here, these next pitchers as the biggest game blowers out there....aka the rod beck all star pen

1) Scotty Grelts...the guy has no action and throws it so had that spike owen can and has taken him deep

2) Donnie Moore.....dave hendersons homer in 86 was just the beginning....he has (no pun intended) never recovered...he just cant keep a lead

3) Worrell---the aforementioned atrocity is the prime example....the guy pretty much sucks...

4)  Jesse Orosco vs the Red Sox....once again, 86 is the start of something....the sox know that orosco shut them down to win the series....and ever since, everytime T brings in this sidearmed hack....he loses the game

(to be fair to all above pitchers, they have all fallen victim to having todd as their manager....the guy has fallen in love with spilman and lindeman...ill give him that....but he has many flaws....(sorry for going on and on, but i am more than enthusiastic about this game)

1) when he talks shit, almost before the sentence is done, something bad will happen to his team

2) he will consistently allow his pride to get the best of him....he will trot his pitcher out in the 7th knowing fully he is going to piss away the game, but insists he can go the distance.....this has been the cause of many a blowout

3) he throws the ball on the outside corner to wally joyner...and meat is hands down the best outside hitter in the game....throw it there and it will be a basehit to right or a homerun....nearly everytime

ill end it there..bban

wow bban... guess you know your stuff... where do you and todd contest your matches... as far as garelts... he is the only pitcher on frisco that i like...   he seems to get the job done for me.  worrell,  rarely have to use him cause tudor goes so deep into every game...  donnie moore, yes, its true... dead guys can't pitch.
another reliever who absolutely sucks is dave smith...
he has no fastball and his ball has no movement.

hey gwynnie...we are located in worcester ma....somewhere about 30 minutes west of boston...quaint little city....dirty

anyways...we play serious games with serious pitching and it usually ends in us hating eachother for a while....we have a few rules...we have to use the starters (first two on the list) to start...and you cant sub in a starter in a game...you have to use the relievers...you have to pitch directly to the pitchers...no funny stuff...otherwise, everything is game....we play 7 game series....i have traditionally been on the winning end of these....but they are close....t has this thing with using the cardinals....which is nice if they are hitting, but if you get by jack clark and lideman, usually they have no chance....but with the mets and giants he gives us a great series...im either the tigers, the angels or the sox....and an ocasional twins....oh yeah...a nickname for frank viola is "sweet music"...and for al pedriq, we like to call him lou....bban

You are going to make a solid addition to the RBI Forum bban, plenty of experience there...

Bring Todd along as well, any from of Spilman is a friend of mine.  So Harry can hit in curve style?

Henke-panky is a quality nickname, I'm putting it in after this post...

Just lost to Potsie, who's on fire tonight.  My 16 dingers weren't enough - I had potatoes with the bases loaded in the 9th and he grounded out.   Was going for his 5th homer too, ass...

seems like we have a lot of chowds playing rbi   bban look out for mookie and stuart up at uconn... they are regulars on this forum and they take their rbi-age seriously.

as for potatoes grounding out with the sacks packed...
dont know what to say..

what about his appearance in naked gun where he is supposed to shoot the queen... how funny is that.

even though they use 3 different stadiums to shoot the game.

I feel as though ive finally found a home (weepping, holding tom brookens card in hand, staring lovingly at the horizon of a new day)

phew....so, spilman can hit almost anything...t has a knack of putting in timely subs...one of our favorite stories has to do with spilman

it was the 8th innning...i had to be up by 7-9 runs...and t loaded the bases....he had to hit for his pitcher...so i suggested he put in speier...or however you spell it....he has always hit well for me...so t, once again pride overflowing, puts in spilman (his virgin run for t) and states, quite unapologetically "fuck you b, ill do it my own way"....the "y" or way had not left his mouth and spilman emptied the bases with a grand slam....and t was elated...however he lost the game...but i will definately tell t to get on here....he likes to talk alot about rbi....he is the one who found the site....he cant get enough...

is this the place to voice opinon about any subject?...cause i feel as though one man has been overlooked in most assesments of talent...im not saying he should be on the legend list (which got rave reviews from both me and t)...but there is one man who isnt mentioned much...as a detroit tiger seasoned veteran....i feel that mike heath is the man...he is fondly refered to as "a professional hitter"...ive also dubbed mr madlck on the tigers as "the best pure hitter in baseball"...what are your views on that??

my last note for this blurb....another great moment was when me and todd got so intense, that we decided that after each series, we would have to draft an article going over the events....those were classic...after one such article, t , in an uproarious and thrilling series, won in 6 games...with the cardinals....after which he signed a lifetime deal with the cardinals and signed jose oqendo to a 4 year. 400 million dollar contract.....

oquendo now rides the bench.....

Great stories t & bban...

Mike Heath is well liked in the dee-nee house, though he never starts.  I think he's better than Madlock, though Lips is the expert on Detroit matters.  Heath is a one-AB hitter, but it's usually quality....

I like Jose Oquendo more than most, he hits well for me.  Yes, I have gotten a couple dingers with him - but for a powerless lefty he gets way more hits than his counterparts (Coleman, Pettis, Ozzie).  Half the time I play with St. Lous (which admittedly isn't very oftern) Jose will take Pena's place...

mike heath is a good hitter but is often overlooked cause he is on a stacked team...  madlock and sheridan usually get the full time slots leaving bergman and heath to pinch hit late.

oquendo is truly ass-  the only difference between he and a pitcher is he is "B" speed instead of "A".  so whoever his agent was that got him the  $400 million
contract should get a raise.

I can lay the smack down with Oquendo, he typically gets me 2 hits a game.  To be fair though, I don't play with him or St. Louis that often.   So if I played with Oquendo and the Cardinals consistently, he would probably suck.  But for now he's decent....

hey lips....t is a big fan of tony pena....he claims he has the best arm in the game...and he was pretty clutch for him...either its a homerun or an out.....however, i have recently got in t's kitchen by stating that tony pena has no heart...and has been playing so lately....

this is my detroit lineup....

trammell, gibby, sweet darrell, fatty matty nokesssssssssssssssss, madlck, cheddar, louis, God

i put in madlck because hes always pounded the ball for me...he has hit 5 HRS in one game, on crazy pitching...a feat never matched in our play....ive had great luck with him....and larry herndon should die a slow and agonizing death....i use heath only as a pinch hitter...and he is a professional hitter...so he produces in clutch moments....

i used to play, as a kid, the straight pitch way....and i can say, and maybe this is because im a complete freak, that i never lost...i used to play all the time...keep stats...seasons....i was a lonely boy....but t gave me the first game...and then he beat me....and it was great to know i had someone who could actually play...that kid can pitch....and to his credit...he brings the best out of the st louis cardinals....although he has lost to the astros in a series with the giants...he also is the master of the hard toss from the outfield....i suck at it...im the master of the rainbow....i feel for you lipz....

we also play it on a huge screen tv....which makes everything incredible...i still want the scientific explination on how men with no knees can run.....

thats another reason why the original will never be beat.  the fat, pudgy players with the color coordinated bats.  who could ask for anything more?

in response to the oquendo thing....t gave him the contract...he should be institutionalized...

here is the webpage for my hero.....tom brookens....i think he should be put on some sort of legendary status....

http://www.geocities.com/colosseum/4390/brookens.html

he is the reason for my quote at the bottom....he is a todd killer....and leads me to say "how many times has he beatcha t?" when he comes up...and he usually does....

t here, bban's primary RBI competition and sidekick, and i have been waiting patiently to put in my 2 cents worth on what i feel is the greatest video baseball game in existence.

but first: gantry - i love your work, and it warmed my heart to stumble upon this site and realize, for perhaps the first time in my life, that bban and i were not alone in our love for RBI. you have done the online world a great justice with your dee-nee efforts. i thank you.

bban has no doubt told you of my affection for mr harry spillman, oquendo (i signed him to the $400 million contract under the influence of illegal drugs), and john lindeman. however, there is one cat who has been overlooked. his name is morris, blank morris as we call him, and he rides the pine for the homerless cardinals. i start him for herr, and in non-straight pitch games (which is our style), he performs well and hits the jesus out of the ball. try him out. he'll win you games. of course, only if vince decides it would be best for the team if he were to hit the fucking ball on the ground. also, scotty garrelts has lost me more games than anyone else. the worst pitcher in the game. his fastball is alive, but it goes nowhere but over the wall, and fair.

there is so much else to write. i hope that in some capacity, bban and i can contribute to your site - perhaps as advanced scouts and talent evaluators. we love the game. we're actually going to get a game in right now.

thanks again.

todd,  looks like you need to get your own id for the forum so you dont have to gravytrain off of bban...  welcome to the site.  john morris is a step up from tommy herr.  jim lindeman is also a good sub...  unfortunately, you are fond of tony jala-pena.  he doesnt see the field for me... lindeman provides a little bit of power and that goes a long way for the red birds.

i've got my own ID finally, and i'm ready to roll. this forum will certainly help get me through the workday.

gwynn-
in my many losses at the helm of the saint louis cardinals, i have found the following players to have a little more pop than i first anticipated:
morris, pendleton, ford, and pena. clark and lindeman are obvious longball candidates. i have also hit four homers with the wizard - and those might just be his only hits for me. he's mired in a 4-458 slump right now, but he's swinging the bat well.
"is that fake blood?" "why yes it is."

just to update....there were a mere 2 games played last night...in the first game, the tigers took a commanding opening game victory on the back of darrell evans (3HRs, single, 4rbis) and Maddog (2HRs, 3 hits, 4 RBI's)...professor plumb went the distance to win the game 9-4.....in game two, a tightly contested game between danny cox and jack and coke....God went deep in the 3rd to break the ice, but a timely hit by vince coleman knocked in a run to tie it in the 6th....we come to the top of the 9th and allen trammell takes todd worrell (see worst releivers ever) out of the stadium to seal the deal....a 2-1 win and a 2-0 series lead for the tigers.....
