Can't the commish just alternate who starts week-to-week?

It'd be a pain to do - since he starts the game in Watch Mode, the computer would pick the starters unless he could get it changed for both teams before it selected them, so he'd have to act both quickly and ambidextrously.

Wouldn't it just be a matter of alternating the lineup?

Well, yeah, but that involves rebuilding the ROM every week, which is at least a minor pain when you consider that you have to make sure you don't mess it up while you're putting it back together.

Now that I think of it, though, he might rebuild it anyway with updated stats, and I think the editor has a "switch players" function to flip their spots in the lineup, so this is probably a much smaller deal than I'm making it.

The rule was initially made to make sure that one person didn't hog four SPs in the draft. However, as I stated before, I'm concerned that if you let teams start trading SPs for RPs, you'll eventually get to a large imbalance. I had less problems with Shooty moving Saberhagen to the end because a) it only impacts his team and b) it mimics what you can do if you are playing in real life (you could pitch your four pitchers in whatever order you want if you are playing another person).

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

so do we have an official ruling on the oc/ft all-stars trade proposal?

Yes it was official, he said no trade.  Do you want him to send you a signed statement?

The Raiders are a successful organization

fightonusc

Actually, I hadn't made it official yet.

But now I have. The trade is denied. For the rest of the season, let it be clear that you must have 2 SP and 2 RP on your roster. However, you can place them where ever you want within your rotation.

The Attarack @ GDavis game is complete, and video is attached.

a trade proposal has been finalized between the ft all-stars and the oc.

the oc gives up SP danny cox for the frank tanana all-star's SP bret saberhagen.

seeing as this trade fits into league guidelines we assume it is final.

the oc would like to have this pitching set-up for week 7:

SP1 gooden
SP2 sabes
RP1 mcdowell
RP2 stanley

further, we do not wish to discuss the inner workings of the previously stricken deal.  in fact, said deal wasn't even included in the original trade talks.  suffice it to say that there was no ill-will involved in either team's motives toward each other or any other entity in the league.  it was merely an attempt to test the waters from two hard-working and imaginitive owners.  a couple of good looking bill veeck's if you will, but one with a much more awesome basement.

Speak for yourself.  I meant ill will towards all of you...especially Saberhagen.

Deal is APPROVED! And U7 is CUNTED!

let it be known that i still consider ultimate7 an iff.  he is an integral part of the rbi world and has dedicated many hours, nay, i say years to the great cause of 8 bit gaming and crunching statistics.  the cut of his jib always has a slight edge to it, and for that we should all be grateful.

Gantry

You know, this kind of thread is the antithesis of Dee-Nee.  It goes against everything I stand for as a faux-Internet celebrity, RBI Baseball fan and all-around loser.  I cannot believe it is 2007 and this shit is still happening in the world.  I think I'd rather be living in Albania right now than be a part of this board and this league.  I mean seriously, how the fuck can you trade Potatoes?

The OC is dead to me and I hope they meet up with the POOPYDICKS in the playoffs.  This means war...

Reggie was too much of a cunt...you're next

TβG

reggie just wasn't cutting it.  he only had 4 hr's.

he was our first round pick and didn't put up those type of numbers.  nokes and wclark had 4 and sheridan was close behind at three.

we thought we could get better value out of a package of players and spread the production around, rather than have one one key line-up spot under producing.

rbi hall of famer or no, the oc is about winning, and if you can't help us win, then you better get out.

I'm really not mad, I'm just disappointed.  You kids today are so obsessed with the here and now, the What Have You Done For Me Lately?  mentality.  Justice is a key lime pie served with a glass of hot cocoa, remember that...

Our next order of business is to get Gantry band from these boards...who can help?
