According to this blog's anonymous sources within the Mets, Julio Franco is the ringleader of a Latinos vs. Non-Latinos racial divide in the Mets' clubhouse.  There are accusations that Franco is only on the team because he's Latino and that Carlos Delgado is still in the cleanup spot for the same reason, plus Paul Lo Duca thinks the team doesn't want him back because he "doesn't fit the profile".

MetsBlog thinks the story and the author are, to paraphrase, full of crap

there are also folks complaining about the lack of Bobby Grich, Dwight Evans, and Willie Randolph.

LoDuca's a douche, he's absolutely right that he doesn't fit the profile, and because of which he wouldn't be back, but by saying that, and if he goes on record, or even more rumors start that he said that, it assures that he will sign an extension and stay with the Mets, because if he didn't protect himself this way, the only team that would sign him would be the Orioles, who would want another aging, awful hitting player to join Millar to make the most useless 4-5 spot in any lineup in the history of baseball.

And I don't blame Julio for being the "leader of the latino players", since he wasn't the one that created this situation, that shit Minaya did.

And I love the egg on the face of the "Metsblog" or whatever, is it really hard to believe that latino and non-latino's would have some issues with each other? 100 years ago Tris Speaker and Smoky Joe Wood split the Boston clubhouse against the Catholics (Masons versus Non-Masons), and all of them were white!!

This is why it's fun rooting for a team like the Twins, where almost all the players get along, and the best pitcher in baseball is also one of the most likeable guys on the team.

Julio picked up by the Braves, to be activated tomorrow.  Look it up yourself because I hate figuring out how to make short links.

Awesome, more reason to root for the Braves to beat out the Mets

this is awesome.  i did a little research and i believe this pitcher to be Jim Kaat.

box score of Jim Kaat pitching to Ted Williams:

and then the box score of Jim Kaat pitching to Julio Franco, only 22 1/2 years later:

Great baseball reference link:

Julio Franco played with Rick Dempsey for the 1987 Cleveland Indians

Rick Dempsey played with Al Worthington for the 1969 Minnesota Twins

Al Worthington played with Ted Williams for the 1960 Boston Red Sox

Crap, that's not what I wanted, I forgot it's only for players that played on the same team, still a great link though
